I just figure the cost in materials/investment for enchanting has been paid for by the Weaponsmith Forging said weapon up. Spend a month fine tuning your efforts and ping a minor thread item pops out. Weaponsmiths have a much easier time making thread weapons than anyone else (of course, they should).
There is no overkill.

Only "open fire" and "I need to reload."
