Apologies, I'm on something of a self-imposed exile to get more writing done.
Acrobatic Defense is essentially the same as 3E adjusted for success levels: 1 Strain, Simple: test against highest Physical Defense of adjacent opponents. +2 Physical Defense against those opponents per success until the end of the round.
Maneuver: 1 Strain, Simple: test against opponent's Physical Defense. +2 to your next close combat Attack test and Physical Defense against the target per success until the end of the round.
Hopefully this clears everything up.
How does Maneuver / Acrobatic Defense work in 4th?

They may seem pretty similar (and on first blush that's not a surprising conclusion). The main differences are:
Acrobatic Defense - purely defensive, protects against all opponents.
Maneuver - Offensive and defensive, only against a single opponent.
Acrobatic Defense - purely defensive, protects against all opponents.
Maneuver - Offensive and defensive, only against a single opponent.
