What Exactly is Earthdawn SW and PF

Okay I will premise this with saying that I have not been following Earthdawn happenings as much as I should have over the last two years....Live has unfortunately gotten in the way and I am now getting back into things.

With that said I have been trying to find information about what exactly SW and PF are, but I am coming up blank. I have gathered that they are a revised edition of Earthdawn 3rd ed, but that is all I can find. If that is the case then I would assume that 3rd ed has now gone the way of 1st and 2nd eds and that there will be no more books? Also does this mean there is yet another edition of books to buy....I have all the books from all the editions so far.....but was not expecting to have to switch to another system this soon after 3rd ed started up...sigh....

Anyway can some give me the brief rundown of the difference between SW and PF and whether or not they will be making anymore 3rd ed stuff(I am assuming no, but thought I should ask). Thanks!

SW is Savage Worlds rules in the Earthdawn Setting.
PF is Pathfinder Rules in the Earthdawn Setting.

If you want a good Idea of the changes happening in Earthdawn look in the News section of this site.

The Issues #11, 12 and #13 of Tableau Infractus have quite a bit of useful information regarding the changes.

There was a posting here in the news section some time ago about the changes but I can not currently locate it.

The Savage Worlds and Pathfinder Editions are ports of the First Edition Earthdawn content to those rules systems (completely separate to Earthdawn Third Edition).

As for Earthdawn Third Edition, our license with Mongoose expired about 30 minutes ago (at time of writing), so we are now working to get ED3 back out again under our own watch, so to speak. As for new content, that's been put on hiatus for the first half of this year, but there will be new content for ED3 coming out later this year and beyond.

The ED3R Player's Guide should be available at Gen Con; the GM Guide "might" be available, if we can get it to the printers in time.

All reprints -- and new books -- will be in the smaller book format moving forwards (which the aforementioned Savage Worlds and Pathfinder books are).

Thanks so much for the response it helps a great deal. I will look at those Tableau Infractus.

I am extremely glad to hear that you guys will be continuing 3rd Ed as I think it is hands down the best edition of Earthdawn made. Youg guys have been doing an awesome job with it.
