Re: map-sets
Hiya,
Some publisher colleagues are trialing some print tech at the moment. We're waiting to see how that works out before adopting it. If it does work out -- and early results are looking good -- then we would like to make these available, along with new map sets.
So the answers are "yes we would like to" and "possibly".
Kind regards, James

Re: map-sets
If I may suggest some ideas :
- there should be some maps with more little rocks as they slow moves but don't affect line of sight (ideal for low ranged weapons like javelins) ;
- there should be some maps with nothing on them, but with little elements to put on as we wish. (Does the words "customizable maps" are the correct ones for this idea ?) ;
- there should be some maps with walls (or some walls to add to the maps) ;
- there should be some maps with "holes" (I mean the opposite of hills) ;
- a new river set would be nice too, but with a river on a side and not crossing the middle of the field ;
- swamps or little water pools would be nice (some giants insects from the Goblins can't cross water... tactical effect guaranteed) ;
- bush / tall grass are cool, nearly as cool as little rocks ;
- roads are cool too (tactical effect guaranteed when moving a single hero along a road).
I think the best idea is a full customizable set (4 maps with nothing on them but lots of hills, holes, grass, swamps, waters, forests, rocks, roads...). Maybe a rule to add / remove elements (based on the number of * the highest general have and the scouting force or something).
I know, that's a lot of stuff to think about. Sorry to give you headaches...

Re: map-sets
While we are at it: Will the new map sets be paper thick or cardboard thick? I tried the new edition of battletech last week and the very sturdy cardboard maps really felt good. Especially as they add weight to the battlefield an so are not as easiyl slipped/shacken up.
Also: Are you guys thinking about creating some terrain with hex bases?

Hiya,
Ral Partha Europe are looking at some different hex mat options at the moment (there's some pictures on their Facebook page, at: https://www.facebook.com/RPEMiniaturesAndGames).
We're looking at doing something with our friends at DramaScape (rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=4491), who have been doing some excellent work in this space with their map and floorplan offerings and OneBookShelf's new print-on-demand cards.
Whether that extends to new maps, hex-based terrain, recruitment cards, counters, or other things, is yet to be determined. Bottom line, if we can make accessories available for use with Demonworld at an affordable level, then it's something we want to pursue.
So by all means, please add to the wishlist!
Kind regards, James
