Re: ED4 Preview #1

Have to agree with the combining of multiple talents that do practically the same thing into one. As a note its probably better to leave different versions & subtle variations of how a talent works down to Talent Knacks. Not so sure about replacing the Result categorys with straight +# bonuses t...

Re: Cadaverpeople and Disciplines

According to the 1st ED opponent entry, cadaver men were created from those who committed suicide - IE: the characters actually died and are then "resurrected" to endure the unending torments and pain. Dying removes the magical energies that were tied to the living pattern of the character...

Re: EDR Planned Products?

Well, I was happy to see the 3rd Edition, especially in shiny, new hardback books for the most part (although my shoulders do make a good argument for seeking the benefits of ebooks after lugging said books to games). A shame that the surge of 3rd ED Earthdawn-ness had to stop just when it seemed the...

Re: Illusions and undead

Hmm, interesting question and definately one that's open to GM interpretation. Undead are usually the province of the nethermancer, but if you make them immune to illusions, then you're shafting any illusionists out of most of their abilities. Not even bringing up the whole do illusions work when vi...

Re: More Setting Please.

I'll admit to being one that was sorely disappointed by LRG not publishing either Dangerous Goods of the Way of Will books. Mainly becasue I'd like to have a completed collection of books and rules for all the Disciplines that the previous two releases had whet my appetite for. (Plus there's only so...

Re: Rules for starvation

Wotcha there guys - Happy New Year! OK, Lanah, I finally got around to digging out my old rulebooks - and promptly got into a bit of an OCD thing with working my way through them. Ho-hum. Anyhow, I knew there were some rules for starvation - hidden away under the rations in ED1: Goods and Services !...

Re: Rules for starvation

Hiya there Lanah Ok, first up I believe that there are some rules about starvation somewhere in the 1st edition books, most likely in the Earthdawn Survival Guide along with the dehydration and other ailment rules. I'll have to get out the old hardcopy and check through, but I'm pretty sure that it ...

Re: Applying house rules and group dynamics

heya there OK as to House Rules, well, I've been the GM of many systems and several groups of players. Seeing as I'm the guy who bought the system and had the desire to run it, I'm the one who got to allocate the rules. This is generally standard for our players - the ones who like a system so much ...

Re: Open Game vs Closed Game

I've been using the screen since 1st Ed - just seemed a natural thing back in my early days of GMing (80's style thing). I'm still using the original 1st ED screen but with the 3rd ED step/difficulty # chart on an A4 print out hung over the original tables. This is pretty much the main essential rea...
