Re: Most Extensive and Crazy Houserules
I had a houserule that an Excellent Success on a Thread Weaving test allowed you to tie an extra thread or cast the Spell immediately. I was thinking of changing it to a Talent Knack... I do this as well. I like to do little things here and there for high rolls. Like maybe an additional attack if t...

Re: Setting or system?
Setting is massively important. I will say that the Earthdawn System is what drew me to it and brought me back to it after my frustrations with other systems.

Re: Most Extensive and Crazy Houserules
I tried a Strain Pool but called it Tolerance. I think I used the Toughness Step and it refreshed everyday (not every battle). It didn't fit my group, they've no problems using Strain. I did go through an eliminate Strain for certain Talents, such as Detect Trap, Search, and Tracking. There was an o...

Re: Giving Ground
Never. If you're looking at saving some space, this would be the place to do it. I would say that nobody would notice, but, we all know how some gamers can be about the smallest of details.

Re: ED4 Preview #3
I like the Karma and Durability changes. I usually let my players refresh their entire Karma Pool with a single Karma Ritual, however, there usually wasn't a decent area to perform it until the end of the adventure or a predetermined break (by myself as the GM). As for D&D/ 3.X Hit Points. Most ...

Re: EDR Planned Products?
I would suggest a Play Test type model, similar to what Paizo uses. Paizo has been massively successful selling us a product that somebody else created, only dressed up. I'm not trying to be mean here, just honest (I have several Pathfinder books, for the record). Nothing wrong with looking toward a...

Re: Kaer Essentials
I can look at how Kaer Ardanyan had a little split due to greed and can easily imagine it getting bad enough where there could be Sky Raiders. The part I really liked about that adventure is how the people of the Kaer would make tools and dishes from their relatives' bones. Social rules adapt to the...

Re: [ED3] Spell Design Knack
I would think this is something they could do without a Talent Knack. That being said, I think the Knack is fine as written.

Re: windlings. why them ?
The Windling in our group is a thief, so I guess that's what I expect thieves to do. A wound while flying with a usually low Strength often becomes a wound with falling with a big owie at the end.

Re: windlings. why them ?
I've not had a problem dealing with Windlings as of yet.
