Re: Versatility slots "freeing up"

Umm, yes he can actually. ED3 PG page 85: "An adept cannot use Versatility to learn talents available to his own Discipline as Discipline talents, but can learn talents available to his Discipline as Talent Options."

Versatility slots "freeing up"

Hello all, I was wondering something. Imagine you have a third circle human adept. He has all his optional talent slots filled and raises his versatility to rank one to learn another optional talent from his own discipline from his trainer. Later that adept reaches circle 4 and gets another optional...

Re: Avoid Blow v's Parry

On the other hand Swordmasters get parry as a discipline talent but dont use big 2H weapons as they get second weapons as a disciple talents. Decisions, decisions :-( You can go for the Chosen Weapon optional rule in the Companion, and you're good. ;) However, mostly dropping in to note that the eq...

Re: Assuring Touch & Lionheart talent

How useful Lionheart is entirely depends on the campaign being run. The more you face horrors the more usefull it becomes. I personally disagree with Lionheart being one of the weaker talents. Once the horror uses Terror on the group it becomes invaluable. Breaking out of a step 19 terror without w...

Re: Assuring Touch & Lionheart talent

Well, I think it's clear now. Lion heart is definitely one of the weaker talents out there, especially considering it gets taken over by a spell at some point.

Re: Assuring Touch & Lionheart talent

I'll try to make a list of fear/intimidation powers and which ones can be defended against with lion heart, resist taunt and steel thought from the core books. One interesting find was that there's a spell that makes the Lion Heart talent completely obsolete: Spirits of Death's Sea. Looking at that ...

Re: Assuring Touch & Lionheart talent

So what intimidation powers does Lion Heart work against? We've seen fear in the form of terror, but I don't see any intimidation powers that Lion heart could work against, while Lion Heart's description does specify it. Just raising the willpower rolls, but not doing anything beyond that against fe...

Re: (Ronin) Samurai character creation analysis.

The Nodachi I actually thought of and looked up, having played Total War: Shogun 2. It turns out it perhaps was not used in the melee, but rather from horseback according to some, while other sources say it was in fact effectively used in the melee by a rare few samurai blademasters. (Ronin) Samurai character creation analysis.

Hi all, So a new campaign comes along and I decided to throw myself into the Samurai Discipline. I watch some samurai movies, look up what I can find on Bushido on the net and do a good bit of digging to understand what Samurai do and how they think and act. And then I look at Earthdawn's Samurai an...
