Re: 4th Edition Reviews?

FWIW, the "only Discipline talents to advance" is a remnant from ED3 that I waffled a bit on whether to keep or not. I think the revised talent progressions makes it better than it was... but it's still not my preferred choice. I think you got it right. The default rule is simple, there's...

Re: [ED4] Book Memory Wizards

If you use Book Memory on your Grimoire, can you use the stored memory to enable other actions that require the Grimoire? The Book Mage ability gained at Circle 5 Wizard? Grimoire casting? Any other benefits? It's not clear to me if you can even use it to *consult* your book-memory Grimoire to put ...

Re: Suggestions for a magical disguise

Power Mask is Illusionist 5/Wizard 5 option and is the "you don't even know I'm an Adept" power. That's pretty much the main thing here, and Troubadour 5 doesn't usually have that, unless they're a dirty human thief. There's some golden rule here, 'cause it's your game and you can do what ...

Re: Healing spells

I'm okay with Last Chance Salves and Death Cheats being fairly cheap. I mean, given that it's a horror setting, that Last Chance Salves only work on things that aren't horrible evil monsters trying to consume all of our souls, and that they're most often used on the people who are the most empowered...

Re: [ED4] Sprint

Great Leap and Gliding Stride aren't movement-boosting talents. They're awesome-boosting talents. I mean, this is some Gliding Stride shenanigans right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGq6FXcpxtY&t=58s Also, now I want a Gliding Stride 9 talent knack that says you can spend 2 strain to sta...

Re: [ED4] Sprint

Yeah, I don't know about that. On the one hand, making Sprint have no strain cost makes it a competitive option against the other move-boosters, which is nice. On the other hand, it makes the kiting-archer problem *really intense* for those Archers that pick up Sprint through Versatility (it's a gre...

Re: [ED4] Sprint

The Gliding Stride description doesn't say it's capped by your movement rate, but the inline example does: Maloren, a dwarf Elementalist, has a Movement Rate of 10 yards ... It costs him his Standard action to increase his movement rate to cover the 14 yards horizontal gliding ... Suggests clear int...

Re: [ED4] One Year Later

Yeah. It's nowhere near the level of HeroForge, and it lacks a save/load function, so when I release a new version of the sheet, it's a PITA to copy over. But it does a lot of math for a player.
