Re: disciplines beyond the player book
For the people who have no idea of what that is: "When magicians learn Thread Weaving at First Circle, they gain the ability to weave spell threads only, not pattern threads. Magicians then learn to weave pattern threads at no additional cost only when they reach Fourth Circle" Equality! ...

Re: GM's Guide -- Anything you would like to see?
Awesome! I'll have the chocolate sprinkles, the gummi bears, annnnd... the Weaponsmith with 10 Ranks in Abate Curse. Oh, and a few of those candied oranges. Am glad to hear the spells were put back like that, though -- when I saw that post, I thought, "Oh, goodness, yes, I wish somebody had tho...

Re: Pre-art draft feedback
Or consider working in language from your paragraph explaining it here ; You can spend one Karma per source. Talents are one source and disciplines are another source. In your example above, a Third Circle Cavalryman can spend two karma on their attack test while charging (one from Melee Weapons and...

Re: Preview - Poison
Oh, I see... but the penalty is -2 per success, so it would only take 7 successes to get a Total Penalty of 14, wouldn't it? Iron Constitution (and Cold Purify) are both pretty rare, but I think that's OK -- poisons, and antidotes, both seem like things that are best kept in the equipment section to...

Re: Preview - Poison
"Something to chew on." Hah. I see what you did there... I like it You savage ! That was pretty brutal. I hope Josh is OK... When we are talking about interval. Have you considered adding this to Sustained Action abilities to know how often you need to roll? But that is brilliant and shoul...

Re: GM's Guide -- Anything you would like to see?
Ooh, thank you, Mataxes; that's a good example to think about. I'll pass it along. The Fatigue rules say that for every 2 hours you spend travelling past a base 8-hour-walking-day, you have to make a Toughness Test against a 7; if it fails, you get a cumulative -1 to all Action Tests, including furt...

Re: GM's Guide -- Anything you would like to see?
This came up recently in one of our games, and I don't know if we're just missing it or if it's not there -- but if it's not already, the GM's Guide seems like a good place for this. Are the effects of not getting enough sleep established anywhere? I find lots of references to the idea that eight ho...

Re: GM's Guide -- Anything you would like to see?
I'm still dead against Sanity mechanics in Earthdawn. It doesn't add storytelling, it reduces it to numbers on your sheet. There's no Horror in, "You get -1 Step to all your Action rolls until tomorrow." You already get that with Wounds and... how many people actually pay attention to Woun...

Re: Pre-art draft feedback
That should probably be clearer in the "Additional Threads" paragraph -- "based on his Circle in that Discipline, as indicated..." And then at the end, "Note that a Human who has learned Threadweaving through Versatility has no Circle in that Discipline, and therefor cannot ...

Re: Earthdawn Back Catalog
3E honestly did some very nice stuff, some of which it does seem 4e is going to reverse. It does therefor have a few things that you don't already have, *and* aren't about to get. The three big things that I think are worth paying attention to are all in the Player's Guide: 1) Skills and Talents -- ...
