Re: Fourth Edition Player's Guide Errata and FAQ

Missile weapons table (p. 434) it lists "Windling Bows" (in the plural, whereas all others are listed in the singular-- Troll Sling, Shortbow, etc).

Monstrous Mantle

Extra threads say, "If an additional thread indicates “Rank” as a modifier, the magician can have each additional thread provide a bonus up to his Spellcasting rank". Under Monstrous Mantle it says "Extra Threads: Additional Target (+Rank)". Is this saying that a single additiona...

Re: Damaging Spells with Duration

In most cases, the damage only happens the first round, it is any secondary effects that last for longer. The descriptive text of the spell should indicate what effect(s) of the spell last beyond the initial casting. In your example, the damage is done if the spell hits, and then the -2 penalty to ...

Damaging Spells with Duration

When a damaging spell such as Ephemeral Bolt has a duration, does this mean the effect test can be reproduced each of two rounds? Or is this a "you don't have to blast the guy this round if you don't want to; you can wait until next round" kinda thing?

Re: Ideas for Making Orks and Dwarves more Appealing to Play

I've got four players in my group; one's an ork, another's a dwarf (a human and an elf round out the troupe). Basically, I told them that if they wanted any of the less common races (obsidiman, windling, t'skrang), they'd have to have a darn good backstory (I'm big on backstories). That ism of cours...

Re: GM's NPCs and involvement

On the other side, is there something, as a GM that you would like your players to change? On the one hand, I am telling a story, and it kind of grates on me when I can't because the players are too damned slow. On the other hand, I kind of get a kick out of watching players over-analyze things. Th...

Re: GM's NPCs and involvement

Our group has one NPC. Really, it's a PC, but the "P" in question can rarely make it and I simply maintain the character as an NPC so the group doesn't get weakened by P's absence and so P can get some Legend Points. Anywaym when in NPC mode, I play him as I would anyone else who didn't ha...

Re: EDR Planned Products?

Whereas a martial discipline must expose themselves to that risk twice (once to hit and once to cause damage), casters must do it three times (thread weaving, spellcasting, effect test). Clarion Call (which caught my attention due to another thread) is a perfect (and perhaps extreme) example of thi...

Re: Clarion Call Clarification

Paraphrased: The magician makes an Effect Test and compares it against each target’s Social Defense. On an Average Result, the target acts according to the voice’s suggestions, so long as the action is not obviously harmful to others; on an Excellent Result, the target can be convinced to take actio...

Re: SR Module - Bottled Demon

I've been wanting to know more about the bottle since GenCon 2009's Shadowrun tourney "Idol Threats" ( Twenty years ago it gained the attention of two dragons. Now it wants yours.... ). Speculation is that the being "in" the bottle was/is an imp (SR's Threats 2 , p. 25 / SR's Run...
