Does anyone have mass combat rules? I remember that someone wrote up a set of rules based on the Legend of the Five Rings system, it was a pretty good framework where you decide how daring you wanted to be and determined some other parameters, then rolled your Warfare and compared the result to a ch...

Re: The Justinian Electoral sceptres

Yeah, I've been back and forth on whether the church and quild scepters should be somehow different from the noble scepters for a long time. I have a draft document where I lay out the specifics, I guess I could share. Basically, I keep revising it as I change my mind, but it lays out the voting pro...

Re: The Justinian Electoral sceptres

In my campaign, the Justinians lost at least one scepter when the Paradise gate was sealed, and traded whatever they had left to the church. Those scepters, being royal rather than church scepters, wound up with the Li Halan after Halvor became regent and Patriarch. I have the church holding 5 scept...

Re: Of Bastards and Exiles

They just reminded me of the minor noble families on Tethys and Byzantium. One of my favorite themes in Fading Suns is exploring the differences between the minor nobles and freelancers, and how the minor nobles are both advantaged and disadvantaged by their status when it comes to working to pay th...

Re: What do you like to see in a city write-up?

Sounds good to me. You give me some NPCs and a map to work with, roughly sketch the city, and I am thrilled. That's always been my favorite part of the a Imperial Surveys, the way they lighten my workload and give me some plot ideas to run with.

Re: Fading Suns Quiz

Who are the Zirghuzai? This is obscure, so I will add a compound portion of the question that also serves as a clue. How could the Zirghuzai be the focus of multiple adventures or even an entire campaign?
