Summon is a Discipline Talent for Elementalist and Nethermancer. I don't play with spirits because I found them unbalanced, too powerful and I've read than some GM didn't use them. Well, one thing that could fix that problem is that the melee weapons talent boosts the damage. I think the melee weapons talent is the same as the skill, of course you can learn it faster, eventually boosts with karma point and rise it to rank 15 instead of 10. But it has no difference. From what I've seen in ED3, the damage of your weapons on an individual target depends on the Firepower of the ship.
If the ship Firepower is 15, it will do step 15 but armor-defeating only needs a Good result. I find that kinda lame because behemot is only 30... and you can fire once every minute.

I would keep UR and DR. Then, for each battle, players should keep tracks of the damage received. After the battle is over, they should consider one half, one quarter (?) is some Stun damage and recover it automatically, without spending Recovery Tests, after one minute (or more) of rest. If the "usability" of spell matrices is really the issue, then let magicians use their Spell Matrix step to make attunement/reattunement rolls. That could also solve the problem of them being Discipline talents, and would offer a different incentive for increasing the ranks of various spe...

So now threaded weapons don't get an automatic boost of damage but can be forged ? That is correct. While that approach solved the issue of normal weapons doing more damage than their threaded equivalents, it also made the Forge Weapon talent largely worthless once thread weapons show up in the gro...
