"If the target does not know the Spellcasting talent or skill, he makes a Perception test in place of a Spellcasting test."

Pretty sure this is a legacy from ED1 since there's no more Spellcasting skill in further editions.

Someone with greater knowledge/skill or ability is needed to train someone else. Two people could not train each other and keep increasing their abilities.
