Re: Looking for weirdness

I think also a false possession could be a fun ecclesiastical hook. I like the idea of Godfrey being pulled in to perform exorcism rights on a child that everyone knows is just mentally ill, but the church finds it easier to humor the noble that demands an exorcism than to insist that they get prop...

Re: Empress of the Known Worlds

Do you think political intrigue would be enough? Would some Decados or other viable parties be willing to economically sabotage their rivals? Could more direct attacks be contemplated? Oh absolutely! But they may possibly be limited by the Decados rules of "Vendetta" so that the conflict ...

Re: Empress of the Known Worlds

I would run it a bit differently. If Alexius marries Salandra, their first born could be heir to both the Empire and Cadiz. Or, it could be fun if their firstborn is the Imperial heir, and their second child is designated the heir to Cadiz. Alexius would be Duke of Ravenna, but he abdicated his hou...

Re: Looking for weirdness

If your PC is Orthodox, you could have some Avesti find him and demand that he tell them what to do. People lose track of the fact that Avestites are subordinate to the orthodoxy, and they aren't as dumb as people like to pretend. Clever Avestites could present an issue to a travelling orthodox pri...

FS as Passion Play

Has anyone run a full on "passion play" style FS game (as defined in the FSR:GMG)? What Grand Theme did you run with? How did the players take to the post game retrospective analysis? How long did you leave in each session for the "review"? Was it a success on the whole? Did that...

Re: What would you rather fight?

True enough, I am just used to my own group of gamers whose characters will fight to the death (in any game system) over the smallest slight and in the face of even the most overwhelming odds. LOL - yes that's the conditioned response for most groups it seems. I used to try to get people out of tha...

Re: What would you rather fight?

Going with option 3 since the characters are green it gives plenty of options for backup if it gets out of hand :) Option two looks like fun too but it puts the characters squarely at odds with militia and knights without a lot of backup, if you are using FSR then they's probably get wiped out quic...

Re: Ceremony to become Questing Knight

I don't see the Emperor initiating every new Questing Knight. He probably did, once upon a time, but as recruits flock to his order from all the 40 or so inhabited planets of the Known Worlds now that there is peace in the realm, rather imagine he no longer have the time to oversee it himself. Prob...

Re: "Cold War" campaign idea

Great Campaign Idea!! Good conversation. I can really appreciate the idea of a cold war and a team assigned "Cruz'ing" the Vera Cruz system. Playing "the game" of what you can get away with in terms of spiting your adversary's, explore lost worlds, and spycraft without Imperial ...
