Re: GM's NPCs and involvement
Well, it's not a specific Earthdawn issue, from what you have described Harlequin. It sounds more like a GM-style issue, whether from inexperience, a genuine desire to be part of the player group, or some other situation. I've played in many games over the decades where the GM has run characters wit...

Re: GM's NPCs and involvement
As a GM, the only time I ever have NPCs join the party, it's strictly temporary, and they don't join in on the decision making process. In my personal opinion, the game is about the PCs, not my NPCs. +1, primarily to avoid awkward situations like the OP described. Having said that, I have had situa...

Re: Open Game vs Closed Game
I roll behind the screen, but mainly for reasons of hidden rolls. It's kinda obvious that you are making hidden rolls when you normally roll openly... That said, I'm also one of those GMs who makes rolls and "notes things down" for no apparent (to the players) reason. "Is it something...

Re: EDR Planned Products?
Hiya, I think there's also some confusion and misconception around the FASA thing, which hasn't helped matters. Well, based on the number of emails I get each week asking for help with the Shadowrun and Mechwarrior computer games, there is. :) If you go to the About link at the top of this forum (or...

Re: EDR Planned Products?
Hiya, From this other thread: http://www.fasagames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1030 GenCon 2014? That would seem to be a reasonable timeframe to get all of the core rules for Revised Edition out in print, which would obviously have to happen before anything new could be released. This doesn't...

Re: Discipline Update of The Wanderer's Way and The Way of W
The Alternative Discipline Design mechanics for EDC were used to reshape the approach to Disciplines in ED3, essentially becoming the "core" design for all Disciplines. As EDR is core ED3, it's in there too. There's a LOT more flexibility in Disciplines in ED3/EDR compared to earlier editi...

Re: Regeneration/limb regrowth
Hiya, As noted, the Butterspider Box has a regeneration option. That will be making an appearance for ED Revised in the Parlainth sourcebook, but you can extrapolate from the original ED1 box set easily enough. In my campaign, I've had one of players (a windling Thief) have his wings burned off seve...
