Re: [ED4] Sprint
There are three movement rate boosting talents. Two of which seem to be capped at the character's standard movement rate, so technically they don't increase movement at all. I've been out for a while, but this whole conversation looks to have just sort of faded out without any real conclusion, so.....

Re: Passion of Learning
Lochost is totally a PoliSci major. Um, more seriously, though -- I think, if you're looking for something like that, it would depend a lot on the GM's view of the Passions. I could see a strong case for Mynbruje. Upandal actually comes to my mind first -- that kind of learning as the architecture o...

Re: animate dead
Annnd... best hashtag ever. Even if the OP could have answered his own question a minute later, this thread has been totally worth it.

Re: Airship Weapons
Too late to use TORG's logarithmic system, I'm afraid. Ah, TORG... *wistful sigh* Maybe if, like, Airships health points all counted as 100 health points each, and their damage points counted as 100 damage points each, and we called it "Mega-Da'--" *Picks up phone* Oh, nevermind, my lawyer...

Re: NPC Stat Blocks - How much detail?
I voted Other -- honestly, in a setting book, I'm not looking for Stats at all , and given that this isn't Paranoia - by which I mean, players often have and read the setting books, too, and that's generally great because it lets them know things about the world their characters should know - having...

Re: Giving Ground
Not that this isn't Way Too Late, but... just since I'm here and have a few minutes, I wanted to note that I have used Giving Ground, and when I have, it's been awesome. I had a Swordmistress who had to hold off against a Wyvern when she was only 2nd Circle -- no chance to actually fight it, but she...

Re: [ED4] Stacking Armor
Oops.. that seems significant. I know off the top of my head, though, that in earlier editions, armor didn't stack... except the Espagra Scale Cloak, which was stated as an exception, with the special rule that it has no Initiative penalty alone and a -1 Penalty when worn over other armor. I just fl...

Re: Horrichalcum
That is indeed a really cool concept. I have one question -- how are they.. developed? How do you get the idea for this into your player's, or rather, their character's, heads? Given that the Mad Passions are a totally new thing, there can't be an established history of how to cure them. I think it ...

Re: Running Earthdawn as a Newbie
Ooh, or they could meet in a tavern! ...What? Not uniquely Earthdawn enough? <grin> The newly-opening-kaer concept is ideal for new players because then you can have characters who know as little about the world as the players do... and having players who know as little about the world as the charac...
