Re: Opinion Piece on the 4th Edition Book size.

I don't think we have any dedicated gaming stores here in Omaha. They are mostly hybrid stores. There is a store that is very gaming centric in Bellevue (South of Omaha) that has a butt-load of board games, Warhammer, CCGs, and lots of space for gaming. Most stores however are D&D glutted. And ...

Re: Passions and Questors - What Would You Like to See?1

The Passions need a lot more fleshing out in general. I was never really satisfied with how they were presented in any previous edition. It was never entirely clear how "divine" they were actually supposed to be. The game stated pretty clearly that they weren't necessarily gods, but I neve...

Re: Opinion Piece on the 4th Edition Book size.

Yeah, I have to confess that I'm horrible about not supporting brick and mortar stores. For as much as I talk about wanting to have a nice FLGS, the fact remains that I'm not going to buy books from them at full price when I can get them from Amazon for 30-40% cheaper. I realize that this makes me p...

Re: Seeking some feedback on a possible ED4 change

Since it has come up a couple of times, what do people think about reducing the Knockdown difficulty? Specifically dropping the +3 modifier that has existed in every edition of the rules thus far? It makes it easier to resist knockdown, and makes the math a trifle easier as well. I'm not sure that ...

Re: Seeking some feedback on a possible ED4 change

Seems I'm a bit late to this party, but I'm not fond of the idea of discarding the distinction between Death and KO Ratings. I actually think this is one of the more intuitive things about the game. For all the derisive talk about how "dumbed down" D&D is, the whole negative hit points...

Re: Earthdawn: Fourth Edition coming in 2014

A moment while I grab the bucket of cold water... Earthdawn will never be on the same level as Pathfinder in terms of popularity and anyone that thinks it will is either delusional or ignorant of the realities of the rpg industry right now. For all the venom that 4th edition D&D draws on various...

Re: Kickstarter!

Why is there so many other freaking books listed as Stretch Goals when this Kickstarter should be totally focused on the new Core Books of the new game line? Why not focus all the attention on making the Players and GM Guide books as freaking awesome as humanly possible? I'm going to have to go and...

Canonical Earthdawn

How closely do you adhere to the "canonical" details of Earthdawn's published setting material? This question occurred to me when I was responding to another post about the Travar book and seems relevant since FASA is jumpstarting the ED timeline. I've been running a fairly intermittent ga...
