There's an Elementalist spell that creates cloud balloons for just such a situation.

The spell descriptions are (generally) pretty specific about what they affect and how, but there is some terminology that the devs use that could use some clarification. Ex: character, target, etc.
Arma can say more about those terms (it might behoove everyone if you stickied them somewhere, arma).

I'm a huge believer in "the GM just narrates what happens" aspect of running games. Now that my PC's are 8th Circle working on 9th, I have more than enough back story and history to just have the world react to their actions, instead of the other way around. Occasionally, I will throw some...

Doom missile does not have an area of effect.
Suffocation states that until the targets move out of range (NOT the area of effect) they continue to be affected by the spell.

Honestly, if someone were to pump up their healing juice like that, I'd allow it. It's expensive and healing is somewhat limited in ED to start with.

Quick note regarding the action cap: I use the highest of the DEX step, PER step, or the adept's Circle to define the limit.
