Re: Handling large groups with iffy attendance
I am considering running ED4 for one of my gaming groups. The group is on the larger side with six players (GM makes 7). The group size is concerning as I would like to try to focus on NPC interaction and exploration more than characters as bags-o-stats in an unending string of encounters. More tha...

Re: Thread Items
Thank you for the suggestions. It makes a lot of sense when you describe it like that -- I never thought to ask the players ahead of time what they might want. Nor did I think of giving the items abilities special effects like that. Very fun! When in doubt, make them too powerful. You can always co...

Re: Second (whatever) as a skill from circle 1
Unless I'm wrong I have noticed that all the Second (attack) can be purchased as skills although they are expensive to raise as such. Would it be a good idea for Melee characters to get these as skills from the get go or should they simply wait? I would Imagine that many picture a character yieldin...

Re: Windling flight while in combat (4th edition)
That being said, a flying Windling with ranged attacks is a challenge, but hardly an "I win" situation. There are a number of flying creatures, and opponents can have ranged weapons and spells too. Also, there is rarely any cover to hide behind in the air. My preferred anti-Windling weapo...

Re: Sturdiness of Grimoires
I apologize. I did not notice what forum we were in. My answers are all based on Earthdawn mechanics which, while similar, appear to have a different focus.

Re: Sturdiness of Grimoires
okay okay but where can I find the sturdiness ratings for different grimoire materials??? As I told you, I have the normal paper grimoire in mind, bound in leather. The only sturdiness rating in the book is for Mystic Defense: Although it is often a pattern item, the Mystic Defense of a grimoire is...

Re: Sturdiness of Grimoires
Please tell me more. On what page in what book is a list of grimoire materials? Though a grimoire is often defined as a book of spells, implying a bundle of paper, grimoires come in many shapes and sizes and can be written on almost any type of material. Some are thick tomes with spells inscribed o...
