Re: Tumult in Travar
The scope of the tournament is only limited by imagination. There are a load of sources of inspiration that I tapped into when putting the tournament section together for the Travar book. To get that wacky feel for the tournament I thought of crazy TV shows like Ninja Warrior, Takahashi’s Castle, It...

Re: Campaign and adventure tiers
You could try giving your 4 cadavermen armor and weapons, or make them trolls (for more hitpoints) That's kind of what the OP is complaining about, that the opposition gets tougher as the player characters get tougher. Though this would be fun to do when the player characters are really over confid...

Re: Why some mysteries are left unanswered?
This is an interesting topic. A good source book or world history should especially leave the GM asking questions. This leads to inspiration. Having done some writing for several RPGs and Video games there seems to be several types of secrets. The never reveal: These are big background secrets about...

Re: Earthdawn: Fourth Edition coming in 2014
The more I've thought about it, the more I'm not a fan of random encounters. The purpose of a random encounter seems to be to break up the monotony of travel between two points or while exploring an area that has nothing to offer other than something that want's to eat the characters, just because. ...

Re: How do you feel about characters with multiple disciplin
I hate the notion of characters with multiple disciplines in Earthdawn. To me Earthdawn was the game that fixed a lot of what I felt was wrong with D&D once I got over the fun of hack and slash and monty haul campaigns as a 12 year old. Earthdawn presented a real vision of classed based characte...

Re: Earthdawn: Fourth Edition coming in 2014
So I've just read the 'What Has Come Before' chapter. Some thoughts. A few things in there I wasn't expecting, need to mull them over some more. One thing that does seem to be missing is the whole Jaron and the creation of the Sphinx thing in relation to the declaration of Empire. Later in the text ...

Re: Campaign and adventure tiers
Now that I'm GMing Earthdawn myself, I'm trying to think how to do this organically. I have a couple of scenarios I re-use with new groups of players to give them that feeling of progress beyond the fact that mechanically they have increased in circle. In the first one the player characters find th...

Re: Nothing on fasagames about 4th edition?
Why isn't 4e being promoted like crazy? It's supposed to be the latest and greatest! I don't want to be hesitant about the support a "new" system is getting, and I want to be able to advise new players to go grab the new edition! Not some weird revised classic third edition that may or ma...

Re: ED4 support?
Because of the shipping costs of the dead tree versions I have opted to take all the products I backed on the kickstarter in one shipment. This means it will still be quite a while before we get a forth edition game at the table, until then I'm happy to stick to the third edition.
