Personally I'd do it the way arma suggested - lowering difficulty numbers. This, imho, also reflects the principle of cooperation alot better than some of the mechanics above^^
Having someone hel you doesn't make you any better at anything, it just makes things easier :P

well you could just google it ^^ The knights back in the middle ages also had battle trained horses. Training a mount to be fit for battle basically contains 3 major points: -Resistance to stress and surprise, the mount must not freak at the first person swinging a sword at it or yelling like a madm...

true, however which fights last more than 20 mis if a single combat round is ~6 seconds

Another nice thing:

let them fight a nethermancer and he can turn a bunch of nightflyers against your windling while dealing with the rest of the group ^^

Fighting 5+ owls/bat/et. should keep him busy

Please note that LP are not tied to treasure ^^ You can be a Troubadour famous throughout barsaive for your well-written ballads and stories. That in itsself would probably get you enough LP to rise to warden level and higher (if really EVERYONE know you) and has nothing to do with treasure. Buildin...

well most of the time it could probably suffice to just give the group contacts ! There will always be a time when they are in need of an airship to get somewhere, wouldn't it be great to be friends with a trader who has a ship + crew ? Generally, I give my group some money and the occational friend...

well as for the more background: I also mentioned that in the discussion on the Earthdawn Compebdium. However, as the discription already said, they are a rather secretive race so giving them a well defined "niche" which they are know for would kinda ruin the fluff ^^ However I do get what...

my main problem with these knacks is basically the "balance through LP costs" that you have. Imho ou should follows Dougans advice and skim over your knack step by step going through the creating new Knack chapter. Not only would they fit better into the ED universe but you might even get ...
