Re: First Adventure Ideas and Help
Does the Questor directly destroy the village, or does he trick another power into doing it? Or trick the village into doing it themselves? Does it end with a physical showdown or does the questor escape, leaving the characters to deal with Relan-controlled 'survivors'. Telarus, btw: blood ravens! ...

Re: Additional Targets in Spellcasting
I currently allow both Air Armor and Mage Armor in my game. It's a headache for me as a GM, but not so bad. IMB, you can only be affected of one instance of a spell at a time, so multiple Mind Daggers would not stack. You would take the worst penalty of whichever Mind Dagger was still active. Do yo...

Re: Additional Targets in Spellcasting
I would say that multiple -2 would stack. How many Air Armors would you let your players cast on one guy? Not to mention, as an example, Air Armor and Mage Armor both add 3 to PA. While not the same spell, this kind of stacking could be an issue to some people. I currently allow both Air Armor and ...

Re: Willforce strain and aoe or multi-targets
Addendum Wizard's Flame Flash: The magician’s Effect test determines how much damage is inflicted each round. A separate effect test is made each round for Flame Flash. The magician gets to chose each round if he wants to use Willforce or not. That's not how I read Flame Flash at all. You make one ...

Re: Extra Successes allowing extra Targets
generally isn't it the rule for about anything when you use something that hits multiple things you use the target with the highest defense as your target number. After that result have at them all Alas, we are specifically referring to spells where the number of targets is part of the result of th...

Re: Extra Successes allowing extra Targets
It isn't in the rules, but I'm going to make it official: you can't bounce extra successes to higher MD targets in that way. You want to hit the lightning lizard? You need to target the lightning lizard. No bootstrapping. So, suppose I am being attacked by a Sky Raider and a Wizard. I believe I can...

Re: [ED4] Astral Sense and Astral Targeting
There are definitely many interpretations of the rules. I sometimes wonder if the vagueness of language is intentional. I personally feel that language chosen for any game rules should be clearly defined. I think that since this is now the fourth iteration of these rules, too many hands went into t...

Re: [ED4] Astral Sense and Astral Targeting
For a spell to be used successfully against a target, the caster has to establish a magic conduit between himself and the target at the instance when the spell is complete. This is described as an arc. The spell moves with a curving trajectory from the caster to the target thru the astral plane. I ...
