Re: Magicians Casting Buffs On Teammates `From Behind'

That makes sense. If they can't maintain them, it's going to be really tough to actually have them active in combat. I think I'll adopt this wholesale.

Re: Combat options

But can't the PC's just go around them in a lot of circumstances?

Re: New Setting/RPG

I think the core stuff is a great system, and I think it would be really fun for a low powered campaign characters who occasionally have to deal with stuff that is way out of their league - which is why I'm going to give that 1879 stuff to myself for my birthday.

Re: Combat options

Tattered - funny enough Living Room Games 2nd edition did introduce a body guard discipline. The big thing for the Force Back is that I want mooks that can make it really hard to attack the BBEG without themselves being a giant pain to kill. With stun, I think the thing that bothers me is the willpo...

Re: Combat options

I'm sorry - you guys have been really helpful and I keep getting interrupted in replying to this. For the Wound Push, how about this as an alternative? A character can opt to grit her teeth and push through pain, ignoring all wound penalties for a test. However, the character burns up one of her rem...

Re: Annoying Plant Feast

- Appearance: Very much GM discretion. The only things we have to go on are that it definitely starts as plant matter and "Although they can appear to contain meat, none actually do." I think that reading this statement to say the meal is a faithful reproduction of the original is over-re...

Re: The Threadweaving tax

Taking a different approach, what about equipment? Perhaps the spellcaster could make a specialized spell matrix object that could store all of the given threads for a spell. The magician would weave them in advance, then could fire the spell with a simple spellcasting test. The object would need to...

Re: Magicians Casting Buffs On Teammates `From Behind'

Undying - The chain casting option idea is new to me. I am interested ... according to RAW there isn't any penalty reason not to continuously maintain certain buff spells, but practically speaking you have to either make a million rolls or handwave those rolls ... It seems unreasonable that the spel...

Re: Annoying Plant Feast

Back to Spader's point - Totally right. It wouldn't surprise me that if an adept showed up and started pumping out plant feast that a mini civil war would erupt. On the other side, I imagine farmers _do_ study elemental magic, even if it isn't described in the book. And Questor magic, for that matte...
