Re: Think machine mapper

I would say it depends a lot on Tech Level. They are designed for exploring so at minimum they are designed to run for hours on end and to store at least as much data as they can read in a full day of driving. The range is probably 100-200 meters of open terrain. Think Machines are problematic in th...

Re: Intermarriage rules

I would say that it depends on station and Exclusivityr. Noble society is largely designed to protect the power of the family and that power in Fading Suns is in Voting Rods and in land acreage. So expecting the house to put up with mild embarrassment of having one of their own merry a commoner is p...

Re: Strange Cargo

I hadn't even thought about border taxing for goods it would make freight hoppers suddenly more practical to move cargo from the port to neighboring cities. I would think that there's an exemption in taxing goods between the Spaceport and the Agora, Otherwise merchants would just sell off-world good...

Strange Cargo

So in many previous games transporting cargo has been a lesser element of our games, either as method to support the world-hopping adventure or as a hook to draw players into Guild drama. How interplanetary trade works is a dead-spot in the cannon of Fading suns so I'm curious how others handle this...

Re: Pre-reflective faiths

The only reference I've seen to pre-reflective religion in Fading Suns is the Children of Zuran. Some of their prophets are pre-Zaibatsu religious and pop culture figures. I don't believe that the Universal Church adopted dogma of older religions. It was meant to be theological revolution.

Re: An Ukari with no name.

aren’t you reducing an entire species into a noun here? Very true, but I don't know that it's not unwarranted in this case. Bearing marks is ubiquitous, not only in traditional Ukari on Kordeth but also on Ukari in the most human of cultures. The markings aren't practiced by a religion or nation. T...

An Ukari with no name.

Recently in another forum we got on the topic of Ukar without scars. As Game Masters, what circumstances might lead to an Ukar growing into adulthood without their markings? How would Ukar react to a blank brethren? Would they hate them? Pity them? Would the acknowledge their existence at all. Do yo...

Re: FS Encubrance

The rule-set we use has very detailed encumbrance. It hasn't really contributed much to our games other than providing another dimension of usefulness to very strong characters as packhorses for the group, or figuring out how exhausting it is to carry an unconscious body. If I were to suggest house-...

The Very Best Ship

What was the best ship in any of your games? Not the biggest or the most heavily armed or even the one with the coolest tech. Which ship was the best character in your games? In the Eye of the Pancreator game we were boarded by a Vuldrock Raider called the Tennerbon and through a duel with a massive...

Re: Fan Websites

If you're thinking about having people submit NPCs I'd consider having a template for them to use to help you keep the look of the characters the same.
