Re: Favorite NPC's

Also used Hithorn the windling merchant *cough* Questor of Chorrolis *cough* to introduce certain players to one another more than once. Then of course, there's Vardeghul of Haven. Always love seeing the look on players faces when they're charged fro even seeing the product list. ;)

Re: How did animals survive the scourge ?

Also stated in older editions that the jungles/forests weren't entirely destroyed - the Scourge altered many lifeforms and made the more common creatures overtly vicious and territorial. Well, after all, its a harsh world of survival. This trait of vicious animals and defensive plants has continued....

Re: Displace Image

I've always GM'd it as your image is displaced several yards but it still reflects what your are doing. IE: it doesn't make you invisible. Sure you can get a blind side attack to your opponents but they can still see you making the attack, and thus attempt to dodge/parry it (with a penalty equal to ...

Re: Favorite NPC's

Sogora the inept adventurer/bandit from Mists of Betrayal. Half of his woodland bowmen broke their bows or shot one another in the ambush against the party en route to Blood Wood (easy to roll countless 1's with D10s y'know). He barely escaped that debacle then got chucked out of the inn's upper sto...

Re: SR Module - Bottled Demon

Heh, one of my all time favourite Shadowrun scenarios. Remember running it when it first came out and freaking out the mage who decided he'd assense the hot chick in the limo! :o Heh. Reran it again recently for a new group of players with more background involvement about it, now that I know a lot ...

Re: Avoid Blow v's Parry

All depends on how your GM rationalises the action. Straight mechanics-wise, sure Parry gets the bonus whereas Avoid Blow doesn't, plus you fall prone if you fluff the later test. Roleplaying reality-wise, you have to weigh up if its better to completely avoid being hit by the attack to whether you ...

Re: EDR Planned Products?

Whew! that took a bit of reading now. OK, high Circle adventures - Passions tea party? :D Good to hear about the current activity of FASA though and their reassurance in keeping the Earthdawn line available, if temporarily inactive. (Gives me time to restart my 1507TH era campaign ;) ) Quite an inte...

Re: Effects of NOT Wearing Armor?

Actually, the Physical Defence and DEX step of the wearer get reduced should the wearer be Encumbered by the weight of the armour (exceeding his Carrying Capacity). Well, at least in 1st ED it did, as the difference in Str required to what your characte has was then subtracted as an encumbrance pena...
