Re: [3rd Edition] Archer and Wizard Optimization help

A Shaman is closer to what he desires then a straight ED Wizard.

Re: [ED4] Matrices

This is not how Thread Weaving works. Additional Thread Weaving talents do not grant the ability to attach more threads, only the highest ranked talent counts for this purpose. That means, when multi-disciplining, you gain no benefits from multiple Thread Weaving talents (exept for magicians discip...

Re: LP rewards (treasure, adventure example)

It's only unfair if the GM is running two games simultaneously and the other one is kaer delving. Character advancement should drive and be driven by the plot. If Circling provides no benefit to your sandboxy town-building experience, then don't worry about it. A sandbox may not have a "plot&q...

Re: LP rewards (treasure, adventure example)

This appears to be designed around a more linear playstyle. How would this change for a more open playstyle. Or to be a bit more plain in speak, this looks like more theme park(i.e. some may call railroads) than sandbox. If there are no session goal/adventure goal, how would you incorporate the lege...

Re: GM's Guide -- Anything you would like to see?

Well, you seem to be down on every edition of Earthdawn except first, so my apologies for assuming that you were coming from an ED1 standpoint. I use bits from every edition. That said, in my experience with every edition of Earthdawn, I have not found that having the skill be "worse" tha...

Re: GM's Guide -- Anything you would like to see?

A Talent is supposed to be different and better than a skill. No longer the case. Unfortunate. Talents weren't "better" than skills in ED1. If a talent was available as a skill, the skill worked the same way as the talent. Talents were different in a couple of ways: 1) They took less time...

Re: GM's Guide -- Anything you would like to see?

How is it more accessible to new players and new GMs? What about the old players and GMs who have to relearn the system? Yes, us "Old School" Earthdawn GMs will have to re-learn some stuff. I've really liked this process, tho, as things begin to really click once the new rules are underst...

Re: GM's Guide -- Anything you would like to see?

Mostly we just have to forget the things we had difficulty remembering in the first place. I'm sorry, but I didn't have difficulty remembering anything from 1st Edition. Each person running their own game is going to have difficulties remembering something, or several things, from the game books, b...

Ignore the new and stick with what you felt is right.

Best way for your group to solve any issues.
