Re: Earthdawn: Fourth Edition coming in 2014

Why anyone would live in Austin surprises me :D Outside of traffic it is a pretty spiffy place. There are a ton of good gaming (console/pc style) companies are in the area along with other techy goodness. Steve Jackson games is here. The population age averages on the younger side of things. Most i...

Re: Earthdawn: Fourth Edition coming in 2014

It is the week after the previously mentioned "early next week" post. Are we close? Mataxes lives in Maine. The carrier pigeons that connect him to the rest of the internet are currently under six feet of snow. What is this snow stuff you speak of? Why anyone lives north of Dallas surpris...

Are we close?

Have new game starting in the next month and am super excited to try out the new stuff. The pre-release version is fine for all that but the excitement has me bouncing off the walls so to speak.

Re: Total Legend and Legendary Status

I still plan on having my players track the total and use that as legendary status. As players hit 4th-6th circles they do tend to spread out depending on how each has spent their LP. The TLP seems a great reflection of what they have done.

Re: Pre-art draft feedback

That is assuming they've linked to the section (or set up sections) rather than just having it hard coded. I think I mentioned something about it back in the early pages of the thread in relation to the p.xx references. Having had to reference large documents with moving parts, setting up defined se...

Re: Pre-art draft feedback

On a side note, please double check the page references in the index. I was looking there and noticed some were a page off. Not a huge deal, but if you are going to be doing all the internal page references it would probably be worth the hour or two it would take to check each one once the art is al...

Re: Beastmasters and animal companions

On a side note, my first played character in ED1 was a beastmaster. It was a ton of fun but getting and training an animal was painful. I do love the class and always like to see it get some much needed attention. The one player I had that tried to tackle the BM did great with it in an ED2 game. He ...

Re: Beastmasters and animal companions

It is a difficult problem to tackle I'd wager. The current incarnation makes the beastmaster functional without the animals being directly in combat. The animal companions have their place in combat but they aren't additional adepts that can go toe to toe with baddies that the adepts in the group ar...

Re: Players guide enough?

If you've GM'ed over the years and used a variety of systems I would say you probably have enough knowledge to go without waiting. You would be missing creature/horror stats and game-specific ways of handling things, but an experienced GM can work around those easily enough. Know that the step numbe...
