Spending Wyrd points on rerolls for NPCs
Out of interest do you spend Wyrd points to reroll any NPC dice rolls, only significant NPCs or just leave that as a player character option?

Re: Age of consent/legal marriage in the Known Worlds
The average marrying age of England in the middle ages was about 26. People tend to spend way too much time looking at life expectancy and adjusting everything accordingly instead of wondering why it was low. For the most part, the infant mortality rate was just so high that it skews the ages. Outs...

Re: Age of consent/legal marriage in the Known Worlds
Thanks all - really appreciate the constructive feedback - and great analysis Leviathan. I'm pretty much with Darksyde, the accuracy of having a 13 year old being forced into an arrange marriage she doesn't want isn't worth the creepiness factor of the situation for players, unless you're looking to...

Age of consent/legal marriage in the Known Worlds
At what age can an individual in the Phoenix Empire legally a) have sex b) get married?
I realise some House/regional law might be different but what would be the general average/accepted age? Remembering that this is a feudal, faux-medieval society rather than a progressive modern society...

Re: Growing old with Antigathics
I would think that losing parts would be a real concern. There is Nano-technology but even it can be unreliable. You may be as spry as you were in your 30's but you could still lose a duel or have a bad skiing accident or survive an assassination attempt. I think beyond the anti-aging technology be...

Re: Growing old with Antigathics
I need to do some digging but I know that the current (5002) Patriarch has been treated with anti-aging drugs but either they haven't worked or have left him with other medical issues and increasing ill health. And I have a recollection that there is at least one noble who has had sanity issues due ...

Re: How to introduce the FS universe to newbies
I'll be having the same inssue in the not too distant future. I did come across an older free intro pdf. If you remove the last bit where it gets in to the basics of the rules and character creation it is a quick and dirty primer that may work. http://sholarijames.com/fadingsuns/Docs/FSIntro2.pdf O...

Re: How to introduce the FS universe to newbies
I used to start by saying it's kind of like Dune or Warhammer 40,000. These days my favourite intro is to say "Imagine Game of Thrones meets Star Wars..." In the past I've then shown players the intro cinematic for the old Emperor of the Fading Suns video game (you can find it on Youtube)....

As it currently stands we have five out of six PCs are nobles.
