Re: Weaponsmith & Conversation
" the adept holds his own in social conversations, using quips, clever timing, and other verbal tricks to make a favorable impression." (3e) That still the jist of Conversation or has it changed meaning in 4e? I think what Baravakar and I are wondering is why? If I am understanding correct...

Re: Weaponsmith & Conversation
Why has every Weaponsmith suddenly become gregarious?
Why such a narrow interpretation of Weaponsmiths?

Re: Panda Gaming Grove Discussion
I'm bemused by:
"The Swordmaster is probably the single most popular Discipline in Earthdawn. I have never run in a campaign that did not include at least one (my current game has two)."
I could say the same thing about the Elementalist or the Archer.

Re: Demo Kit
I have no idea of what is being discussed, done, etc. this is purely from an outsiders lookyloo 1879 has two different worlds to play in, and while I can see the anticipation that the Priest and Shaman won't have as big of an impact in Victorian London as some other professions, they will have more ...

Re: Earthdawn: Fourth Edition coming in 2014
These guys had less than a year to do this, something I said couldn't happen when the kickstarter was ongoing. Just no way were they ever going to be close to that.

Re: Demo Kit
Sure, sure... but, I'm a realist when it comes to gaming. Enough gamers out there equate "Capture the imagination" with "impact the game" that a designer should stop and think about their respective "classes". If they don't, their doing a disservice to their own game. I...

Re: Demo Kit
To reiterate "I would caution trying to add more to what will be a popular class like Weird Scientist. Priest and Shaman will need something to make it an actual choice for players." If banishing, healing, and protective abilities or summon both spirits and elementals doesn't impact the ga...

Re: Demo Kit
People travel hundreds to thousands of miles to go to Gencon. Why would they want to play a typical standard class when there is one that is more unique? A game like 1879 I would be surprised if the Priest was played more than a Doctor. Same with Pioneer over Big Game Hunter. I would caution trying ...

Re: Demo Kit
Were you surprised that the Priest and Shaman weren't popular?
Had you expected the Big Game Hunter to be the preferred fighter type?
Did you assume someone would most likely play a Doctor?
