Re: The obligatory skill

Half their karma per encounter? Good grief. That seems like WAY too much, even when characters have more ways to spend it. You're essentially saying that characters are, at all power levels, inadequate and can only accomplish their goals by constantly relying on a pool of bonus dice. I think part o...

Re: The obligatory skill

Yeah, my players always tended to be karma horders, so I guess that's unduly influenced my opinion of the Karma Ritual talent. In my experience, though, combat has been anything but "fast and bloody." Unless there's a significant mismatch in power level between the combatants, I've typica...

Re: The obligatory skill

I agree with a lot here. My 'fixes' were to make Durability a free Discipline Talent (acquired automatically @ Circle 2 at a Rank of 1), but you would still need to spend LP to increase it. This removed it from the Talents list, and I let players pick another Talent for that slot. For Karma Ritual,...

Re: The obligatory skill

I don't know what's 'unfair' about it. If every talent that's 'passive' is an unfair expenditure of LP, then there are dozens of them. And Karma is much less passive than many other talents-- Players decide the size of their karma pool, how often to spend it, etc. Those are all rather important/inte...

Re: The obligatory skill

This is one of those "fluff influencing crunch" issues that continually bugs me about ED. And this is the type of fluff/mechanics integration that I love about ED. In most games all things related to mechanics are purely meta concepts that don't have any meaning in-world. That really bugs...

Re: Running large groups?

Thanks for the advice, guys. It looks like we may actually have 8 players. I'm seriously considering just breaking it into two groups. Will see how the first couple sessions go...

Running large groups?

Anyone have advice for running a game with a large group of players? I'm starting a new campaign this week, and somehow the group blew up to 7, which is a lot to me. I'm used to running 4 to 5 players max. We had a get together last weekend and just seeing that many people in one room is a bit daunt...

Re: Revised changes?

Cool, thanks. ;)

He mentions some changes that might be editing errors? Were they/have they been fixed in the current pdf?

Revised changes?

I did a search but didn't find anything on this... I'm going to be starting a new game this week and just picked up Revised. Is there a changelog anywhere that lists the changes from 3e? I noticed changes to the result levels, characteristic chart, and karma for the races. Are there any subtle chang...
