Re: Pre-art draft feedback
So after 9 pages of suggestions in another thread about a potential new name for Direction Sense, FASA has chosen Direction Arrow? Wha-? Four Disciplines will get Direction Arrow in 4th Ed: Archer, Scout, Thief and Wizard. I know under the description it says "different disciplines express this...

Re: Pre-art draft feedback
Hi guys, Still proofing here, but I like most of what I've read so far. I do have a question about Optional Rules, or apparent lack thereof. In 3rd Edition they included a bunch of optional rules in the Combat section from previous editions: Initiative based movement, Max weapon damage, Min weapon d...

Re: Earthdawn: Fourth Edition coming in 2014
No, The Companion was always intended to be later in the year (October/November). My mistake. I could have sworn I saw an August due date under the Companion PDF listing on the Kickstarter page when I looked the other day. Must be hallucinating from my Earthdawn fever... Thanks for the update Matax...

Re: Earthdawn: Fourth Edition coming in 2014
Can we get an indication of how things are progressing with Earthdawn 4th ed? The Kickstarter campaign said the PDFs of the Player's Guide, GM's Guide, and Companion would be released in August? Is this still happening? The guys working on 1879 seem to post updates every week, but things have become...

Re: Art preview!
Fantastic work Milivoj! I want to say this first so what comes next isn't mistaken for a criticism of your talent (Rank 15 Artisan Skill I'm guessing? :) ) I love this piece, but as a cover does it capture the spirit of Earthdawn? I'm not sure it does. Without the Obsidiman it could easily be a cove...

Re: A new Developer's Blog? Why yes!
Can one of the developers give an indication of how the new armour rules fared during playtesting? I like the simplicity of +2 damage/every 5 over PD rolled instead of Armour Defeating Hits, but I still can't help thinking it's going to slow combat down more. An attacker would have to get 35 vs an o...

Re: A new Developer's Blog? Why yes!
Ah, got it. Didn't realise it was a result bonus, not a Step bonus.
I guess if it's no longer considered an 'armour defeating hit' it doesn't matter if the opponent's wearing armour or not.

Re: A new Developer's Blog? Why yes!
Still considering whether I like the new Armour Defeating rules or not. Can you clear up how this change makes combat more streamlined? It seems to make things slower: Under the existing rules: Roll to hit V PD. Check chart. Excellent Success means Armour Defeating Hit. Straight damage roll - don't ...

Re: Developer's Blog -- A pair of new spell mechanics
As of right now, Disbelief is a different creature than it was previously. It's not an action and it doesn't cost Strain. At the same time, it doesn't work against everything - a spell will note if it can be Disbelieved. There are consequences for Disbelieving a spell which is not an illusion. Sens...

Re: Developer's Blog -- A pair of new spell mechanics
Like everyone else, these new mechanics sound good so far. I look forward to testing them out. Disbelief no longer functions how it did in previous editions. Illusions as a whole have been rebuilt (as was promised), including the attendant subsystems. They are still recognizable, even close to where...
