Re: [Ed4] Stealthy Stride talent

It seems to me that the talent should actually have a duration limit built into it. I checked the Third Edition's Silent Walk and the text is pretty much the same. If it is given a duration per activation, then extra rolls would be needed when it expires. If not, the player can make one super roll a...

Re: [Ed4] Stealthy Stride talent

Using Stealthy Stride needs Simple Action so a test is made every round. Test Result is difficulty to see the adept. How do You rule it works, a test at the beginning of a round (simplest choice), or from that Adept Initiative to his initiative in next round? So lets say Adept used talent and is in...

Re: What future supplement releases would you like to see?

I feel there is a real need for new spells for the fourth edition. Each magician discipline has 11-12 First circle spells and 6-7 Second and Third. Each of these has variations of the same basic spell with background flavor. Example 1 (attack spell): Elementalist - Earth Darts (range 20yrds, WIL+2/P...

Re: Thief Half Magic

I think the key word here is bypass. Should the thief encounter a locked door, he could use lock picking to get inside or half-magic to determine another way inside the building bypassing the need to unlock the door. Maybe he with half-magic he notices an open window on the second floor.

Re: Thief Half Magic

Thieves may use half-magic to build or bypass security measures intended to prevent theft, and to recognize different types of locking mechanisms. Hmm, its a good question. This half-magic could be used to get around some guard dogs. But it also does indicate it would work for locks and traps too, ...

Re: [ED4] Legendpoints

Mataxes made a blog post for this issue: Developer's Blog - Legend Awards in Earthdawn Thursday, January 29, 2015 by Josh Harrison A question came up on the forums with regard to how the Legend Award for treasure is figured out, and led to some additional questions about Legend Awards. While the way...

Re: Additional Targets in Spellcasting

My point was that, perhaps you should take both effect tests together and THEN determine Wounds. If neither by themselves cause a Wound, perhaps both together might cause one. The wording implied to me that you take the effect tests together, potentially causing more wounds than one would get with ...

Re: Additional Targets in Spellcasting

The phrase "The magician’s Effect test determines how much damage is inflicted." is the general rule. This does not state that only one effect test is made and applied to each target. The effect tests for "combat" spell always determine the damage inflicted. The actual general ru...

Re: Additional Targets in Spellcasting

Not an issue because you can have up to Spellcasting Rank instances of the same spell active if not written otherwise (like binding spells). I would say that multiple -2 would stack. Does anyone have a page number for this rule? I'm not finding it, though I remember something similar in previous ed...
