Re: New Wrinkles

Our groups typically used the random roll 4d6 keep 3 highest. In addition, I always let my players roll 3 sets and choose which set they wanted. They then assigned the stat numbers where they wanted and applied the racial modifiers. I may do this again when I start my next game up soon. On the karma...

Re: Digital PDF release, also as EPUB /MOBI ?

I used Calibre and converted it to a .mobi file to stick on my Kindle reader. It worked, but didn't work great. The obvious issue is tables and boxes of text, but that was really expected. The larger item is since there is no built in navigation/table of contents you can't easily navigate around in ...

Re: Earthdawn: Fourth Edition coming in 2014

I'm looking through it now and enjoying it. Reading the PDF does remind me of how much I like the dead tree editions moreso than the PDFs. I too noticed the page references and was coming to mention them and to ask if it had to do with the art layout. On a side note, my wife's company builds in page...

Re: Earthdawn: Fourth Edition coming in 2014

Funny, I was just thinking today we are probably long overdue for an official update. I thought the initial book was going to be out in August with the 2nd book following in October. I have been really curious as to where we stand and when we can get our first bite at the initial book.

Re: Kickstarter!

Just got the survey today! I had to pull up my old emails to remember the different things I'm supposed to get. That is going to be one massive box for me. I ended up all in with the Hardcover everything bundle, Softcover Everything bundle, plus the two addons for the Elven Nation & Questor book...

Re: Seeking some feedback on a possible ED4 change

Easy item first: The comment about "like the setting but too complex system" is one I've gotten from people over the years as well. The one change I always thought would help this would be to do away with attribute value. Why do I need an attribute value that translates to a step value tha...

Re: ED4 Preview #1

I would think of the consolidation similar to Karma Ritual where each discipline had a Karma Ritual but they were different and unique to each discipline. The archer's Impress talent would be as it relates to archers (ie impressive shot) whereas a warrior's might be related to a weapon attack or oth...

Re: Effects of NOT Wearing Armor?

The groups I play in avoid any initiative penalty like the plague. Everyone runs around in padded leather at the top end pretty much. We do have a front line fighter in blood pebble now as the highest armor. Most of the group are dex based disciplines. Anything that isn't armor defeating is easy for...
