What does a throne room look like?

I was looking at some fan art of a big high tech dais with a floating throne and it just didn't feel like Fading Suns to me. So what does a 55th Century Throne Room look like? Fashion aside a Noble presides over their court for functional government and legal needs but what does that room look like?...

Re: Fan Websites

I was hoping to get another update done before posting but I'm tied up working on other game stuff and probably won't have a chance to take care of that for a while.

Re: Fighting style training

Most fighting enthusiasts apply themselves to a martial art for about 2 years before moving on to another style. That's 2 years of regular work in a Dojo with a qualified instructor. That doesn't necessarily fit in so well for a game. I would allow a player to learn a martial arts if they were trave...

Space Travel, what's the worst that could happen?

Long ago I made a short list of things I might to do players to make their journey between worlds different. The idea was to present them with non-routine problems that had solutions that could be dealt with and consequences that were concerning but not deadly. Water taken on for life support at the...

Re: Hubris and Urge

I've found that the feel of the powers works better if you don't think of them as the same thing. Hubris is a metaphor of your your obedience to the Pancreator and adherence to your literal faith. It is a matter of doctrine rather than any sort of system of morality. The difference would be that mur...

Tens of thousands of tiny golems, so yes, very heretical

In the game I'm currently running our priest was attacked by a medical golem that injected him with a second republic serum. He's already discovered that he's infected with Nano Machines but he hasn't figured out yet what they do other than cause him to have horrible nightmares. I have my own design...

Re: Empress of the Known Worlds

They are a canon celebrity couple. Or at least people think that Salandra being seen in his company means that they're a couple. The more I thought about Salandra and Alexius, the more it made perfect sense to me. It's such an outrageous power grab and you need to manage rumor and fact very carefull...

This is how you hunt a witch

The inquisitor has been travelling into a fief some 200 miles from the Cathedral intermittently, following stories of an Antimonist that thus far haven't held much weight. There were some questionable books found hidden and the inquisitor torched the village they were hidden in to make sure any othe...

Lets Start a War!

So you're a powerful devious scheming bastard who would benefit from two local factions having a full out exchange of attrition in the middle of prosperous peace. You already have the advantage of two landholding factions that don't get along so how do you light the fuse on that keg of dynamite. My ...

Re: The Millennium

No, we never got to the year 4000 in 2nd ed and the Revised games we play are sent in 5002. We did play a chapter of a game that revolved around the chaos surrounding Ravenna's orbital path intersecting the Paracelsus Belt.
