Re: number of daily karma points

They did away with racial karma dice They did away with karma costing Legend Points They did away with Karma Ritual being a Talent. Player waffling on which race to play, where one of the factors is karma die? I have had plenty of them over the years. Debating with themselves over spending the Lege...

Re: Weaponsmith & Conversation

Evidently I am missing the point here. Gregarious(aka social, friendly, outgoing, convivial) adept isn't required, to hold his own in social conversations, using quips, clever timing, and other verbal tricks to make a favorable impression because a dour (aka sullen, gloomy, morose, obstinate) adept...

Re: Weaponsmith & Conversation

You are focusing on the wrong part of the description. The actual effect of Conversation is to make people like you and pay attention to what you say, the rest is window dressing which you are free to change as best first your character. Besides, making every word count is very much a case of using ...

Re: Weaponsmith & Conversation

Being skilled at communicating and being gregarious are not the same thing. Some people with ranks in conversation use it to engage others and hold them enthralled with their presence, others use it to try and convince others to adopt their opinions, and still others use it to communicate clearly wi...

Re: Earthdawn: Fourth Edition coming in 2014

Well, I hope that they're working on the GM's Guide while they wait for the Player's Guide art and layout to finish.

Re: Cavalrymen

Well that's why you beat the unicorn into submission first, show it who's boss. It's like the relationship between Punie-chan and Paya-tan in Dai Mahou Toujo. Sure the cute animal mascot is actually a vengeful and ruthless hardass always trying to assassinate its owner, but if she can't survive cons...

Re: Cavalrymen

I must confess with some embarrassment that I forgot Wheeling Attack removed the rider's harried modifier from splitting movement. Though at least in 3rd Edition it doesn't remove the mount's harried modifier from running. I suppose in light of that the change does make sense. It is definitely true ...

Cavalrymen

So I read Panda's Anatomy of a Cavalryman several days ago, and was disappointed to find that their 5th Circle Discipline ability had been considerably reduced in power. The original Masterful Horseman ability allowed mounted Cavalrymen to ignore the Harried modifier when running and splitting movem...

Re: karma use and other questions in 4th ed

You can use karma on all those Talents provided you got them from your Discipline. While those Talents replace or bolster a given value, they still all affect a certain roll, and spending karma adds an extra d6 to that roll. Like for Tiger Spring and Air Dance, if you spend Karma on it then you get ...

Re: karma use and other questions in 4th ed

As Panda said, most of those _replace_ the "Interaction Test", which are limited to what is defined in the GMG. I don't think they replace the Interaction Test, because you still have to do the actual Interaction Test itself. Like if you do Winning Smile you get a bonus to your Interactio...
