Re: RPE announcement
I can't confirm this, but given anything developed for NA by Mongoose would need HD approval, that means those ships are part of the canon. Now if we have the moulds, that is another thing entirely. Otherwise, I now have Decados and Hawkwood fleets from RPE to paint, so expect to see them, and my ot...

Re: Play testing & rule sets
Glad you like the pictures. When I get around to playtesting the rules there will be plenty. Hell, if we get to do what we want I really hope to get commissioned to painted stuff for the books and blog (like how to make planets etc as well)..... Meanwhile... on some backwards planet called "Urt...

Re: Play testing & rule sets
The plan hopefully is to have stats important to spaceships be used in NA. And also that is where project XXX also comes in.

Re: Play testing & rule sets
Gun decks and facing will still be important. In BFG I really like how relative motion changed the chance of hitting. Weapon types will be definitely based around fixed, turret, and missiles. With each then having difference in how they penetrate shields, armour, and their range. The u-boat analogy ...

Re: Play testing & rule sets
There is some logic to why the movement is not going to be like 1st ed, is because, while technically spaces ships are free to rotate, keeping to motion more akin to sailing ships still makes sense because ships can only turn so fast, because, certainly in FS, no ship is a perfect rigid rod, and so ...

Re: Play testing & rule sets
Hex based "real space movement" I have never seen implemented in a manner that is playable beyond a couple of ships a side. Given how popular games are like Firestorm Armada, X-Wing etc, a game system with more focus on less book keeping of movement, is important. Having played a lot of di...

Re: Play testing & rule sets
Hi guys. Currently Bogie and I have been doing the main back and forth on the rule set. Right now Bogie is putting together the first draft using our ideas. It won't be ACTA, nor 1st ed. 1st ed would be excruciatingly clunky and slow to play. ACTA, while serviceable, is not our rules, and also, alon...
