Ultimately, it depends on the trap. For example, you could have the classic 'crossbow pointed at the door' trap that might require an Attack test in order to hit the target that triggers it. My reply was using 4ed rules sorry for confusion.
There is no ATTACK test.
Mundane: not even trigger make attack test
Magic: trigger generate detection against anyone in range then effect is released without hiting.

So that's why DS is rather strange in such. (i reply tomorrow as no time today)

Nice one. I assume your scout have disarm skill/talent, if not he cannot use awareness to detect trap. Also trap MUST have disarm number see below why. No problem, it is just stupid to g blindside when you attack, enemy too. Also in close combat showing back is normally dangerous if you miss good opportunity that's why when panic broke on normal field it is when most people die.
