Re: Earthdawn Podcast.
Thanks, Telarus. I listened to the podcast (I just sped to the point you mentioned) and I also looked up The Legion of Myth blog post on the topic of comparing the various editions of Earthdawn-to-date. If anyone is interested here it is. I have no affiliation with the blog post but I figure for eve...

Re: Running ED4 at a Con
The best thing I can say is to K.I.S.S. Just leave out (at first)the combat options. Just do straight to-hit, success level, and damage. Don't rope them in on the complex stuff like Defensive stance or aggressive attack, or anything like that. This has worked wonders for me in the past with all my n...

The GM screen pics and description of charts on it are listed with episode 001 (way at the bottom).

Re: Pre-art draft feedback
The one thing I have an issue with so far (and is really minor and can be house-ruled by anyone) is that all the members of the same race move at the same speed. All orks move at the same rate, all the humans move at the same rate, etc. The move rate is just assigned per the character's race and the...

Re: Giving Ground
My group has only used it a fraction. I mean only 2-3 times in the past 2 years, and NEVER before that. I like that it's there, but isn't really an option that my group explores.

Rogan, I love every word of your explanation. Well done. I'd play in that game with that rule any day.

Re: Applying house rules and group dynamics
The most important thing with house rules is write them the fuck down . Nothing drives people crazier than rules that only exist in the GM's head. Second most important is to not change them in the middle of a session. Couldn't agree more. Anything we've ever had to house-rule we've made it simple,...

Re: How many rounds is your average combat?
My games usually have combat last 4-8 rounds. 10 if it's a bad dice-night for the players. I once had a 22-round fight wherein my party was up against the Un-Namer horror from a published magazine adventure. The horror was removing talents left and right, it was fun. It was a slobber-knocker that ha...

Re: stupid question about dice step changes
Question for 4th edition... 'What dice steps will be used: a return to ED1 or the continuation of ED3 and it's reliance on a plethora of d12's? Personally I like my d4 and D20 (although 2 d12 are nothing to sneeze at). And I liked each race having it's own Karma die (ED1) vs every race having a D6. ...
