Re: [ED4] Weaponsmith, Craftsman, and tools
Had a question of whether a weaponsmiths craftsman tools would be free since characters get free Artisan tools and the craftsman skills can be considered Artisan skills. I also just wanted to note that that seems like an awfully broad reading. You're taking, "Artisan Tools (relevant to the cha...

Re: Help with some roadblocks
Yei. My first thought is that both of those only increase physical armor. Especially if they're fighting Spirits, it shouldn't be too hard to work in some attacks that target Mystic Armor instead. Or something like Earth Darts; that would effectively negate at least one of the effects. It's not clea...

Re: T'Skrang Beastmaster - Claw Shape and Tail Attack
I guess, doing mostly Play-by-Post, it's fairly rare (and takes a long time) for a game to make it much past 1st Circle -- so that, "Out of the gate" character comparison is more important than what people can potentially do after several years of playing. Forge Weapon isn't really availab...

Re: Astral Interference and Baseline Subtraction Questions
Note: Dispel Magic is now a talent, not a spell. Ooh! I hadn't caught that yet. That's much more interesting than whether or not Baseline Subtraction is written perfectly for what it clearly does. And as long as I'm here and looking, I do like the way it works -- especially basing the difficulty of...

Re: Astral Interference and Baseline Subtraction Questions
Dispel Magic being better assumes you're not the one invoking Astral Interference. And since Dispel Magic is a spell, it's probably harder to target Astral Interference than it is to target, you know, things that don't interfere with spells. The... designer anticipated chain of events looks to me to...

Re: [Ed4] Player's Guide Feedback
That being said, why would anyone put an Obsidiman skin (p.435) ?? It's always been my feeling that Obsidiman Skin Armor was included not so much as a thing a PC might wear, but rather, to address the issue. We have a race with an intrinsic armor bonus because their skin is made from rocks -- it wa...

Re: T'Skrang Beastmaster - Claw Shape and Tail Attack
The purpose of the Talent is really to make up for Beastmasters not using weapons. If we compare to a T'skrang that uses a Broadsword (Step 5) in hand and an attached Shortsword on her tail (Step 4)... even if we assume our Claw Shape user is going to further stretch the definition by picking up Swi...

Re: Thread Items / Damage Step
I don't recall where it first cropped up, but ED3 also had the rule that Forge Weapon couldn't be used on thread weapons -- but to counteract that, set the Rank 1 benefit for all thread weapons that it would have the maximum forge bonus. First Ed, Adept's Way, seems to be where the idea of Forging ...

Re: New Blog Post - Update and Preview
...And if you want to build it into a more robust system and hook it into other things, that seems pretty easy to do, too. But every GM who does will have their own Corruption mini-system. Really, much like they do now, but as we're seeing here, having this in there might inspire people to think it ...

Re: New Blog Post - Update and Preview
Interesting. I have to say, it sounds like you guys are doing a very good job with this! It's hard to introduce a new piece to an already running machine.. my first thought when reading it was (naturally) dismay, because I love the almost completely story-driven aspect that Horror Taint currently ha...
