Re: Summon
We had a thread talking about changes to this a while back... I'm glad to hear that it is being addressed in the new system! Any chance we might get a preview of some of the new summoning system in a future update? I'm so excited for 4th edition.

Re: Eleventh Hour Preview: Wizard
So, if changed to 2 automatic Matrices @ 1st Circle, the player could pick up 1 extra as 1st Circle Optional Talent... which means a possible 3 Matrices @ 1st Circle, and 4 possible @ 2nd Circle. This seems a little too many that soon. A Perception Step 7 Wizard will have 8 spells minimum in their ...

Re: Eleventh Hour Preview: Wizard
I like the free matrices. The Wizard is getting a downgrade having to wait for willforce, already has to suffer through threadweaving, and has a list of other talents that are mostly just beneficial to the gm/group. Spells are essentially the wizards equipment and they pay for the versatility of the...

Re: Fourth Edition Preview -- A whole lot of talents
What ever became of battle bellow? I liked the idea of an area effect taunt but I wanted it for the troubadour. Distracting an audience kind of thing.
Battle bellow in 1st ed was too much being no action.

Re: ED4 Talents and Progression
Ah, saw the 2 ed. books and figured they'd kept that to inhibit multiclassing, that does change things a bit... that's what I get for not buying books for 15 or so years. I'll catch up bare with me

Re: ED4 Talents and Progression
That's true. I forgot you could get R/W magic as a skill, I just wouldn't allow that. I wasn't thinking about a caster trying to gain more lists, are the matrix items still universal even though the matrices aren't? I assumed that would be changed along with the talents. If not then that makes matri...

Re: ED4 Talents and Progression
Initially i liked the concept too. However a human character only has to pay 1100 lgd point to get 4 ranks in versatility. Then for the cost of some novice talent they could have access to every spell in the book. It might add flavour at lower circles but higher circles it is not uncommon for you to...

Re: ED4 Talents and Progression
Mechanically I think there is two purposes. Firstly, leveling up the thread weaving of another discipline is a legend point sink, as you mentioned. Secondly, you can only weave threads for spells if you have a threadweaving of the correct type. This prevents a human with versatility snagging a matr...

Re: Fourth Edition Preview -- A whole lot of talents
Questions: 1. Is what sort of action is Acrobatic Defense? Will the user still be able to get an attack off in the same round? 2. Is distract single target or can it be used on groups? 3. Is what sort of action is Spot Armor Flaw? Positive: 1. I love Suppress Curse I hope it is as useful as it sound...
