Re: 4th Edition Reviews?
I seem to recall this attribute/step idea being bandied around in one of the threads around the time 4e was announced. It's a good one. It's a minor example of a "sacred cow" that ought to have been slain. I know why they were kept, but my point at the time was that there had to be other w...

Re: 4th Edition Reviews?
And I say that as someone who pretty much hates the traditional, combat heavy D&D experience (which is why I hate Pathfinder).

Re: 4th Edition Reviews?
Telarus, yes and yes. Now, I've only ever been a GM for Earthdawn, so I might feel differently if I was a player. It's a game with tons of options that are cool in theory, but I've never found them to be as exciting in practice. I was very excited for 4th edition and I think it did what it set out t...

Re: 4th Edition Reviews?
The problem isn't with the character options. Players are not intimidated by complexity. Shadowrun and FFG's Warhammer 40k games are every bit as complicated, if not more so, than Earthdawn. The issue is that Earthdawn feels unnecessarily complex. The key word here is "feels." While the St...

Re: Earthdawn: Age of Legend
Wait a minute, you don't think it's a problem that the Fasa Games website contains hardly any information about Earthdawn 4th edition? It's supposed to be the publisher's flagship game and there's virtually no advertising for it. While I agree that the Kickstarter sparked a lot of interest, keep in ...

Re: Earthdawn: Age of Legend
Well, it might be worth asking. I'm sure there's somebody out here in the ED community who's good at that sort of thing. Finding a "marketing director" might be a little too much to ask, but what about just having somebody to update the website every now and again? I know there's a lot goi...

Re: Earthdawn: Age of Legend
While there have been Savage Worlds and Pathfinder conversions done in the past, they were done "in house," not released by a totally separate company. Also, those conversions were widely considered to be rather hasty and poorly executed. They also recycled the same art/design assets that ...

Re: Game Play and Rules Questions
I'm sure that 12 pound artillery is very awesome. Unfortunately, the rulebook only contains rules for a 3 pound artillery piece, which can't even hit anything beyond 12 inches. The Samsut force was about 3400 points or so. There were two 12 model skeleton units. If I recall, there was one zombie rai...

Re: Game Play and Rules Questions
Thanks for all the clarifications! I did actually find at rule about the death of commanders causing morale saves when I played earlier today. After another game that wound up fairly indecisive, I had a few more questions. 1: I see rules for joining a melee, but is it possible to fire into a melee? ...
