Re: water, air interface

Now I'm wondering who really is the target of AoE spells. The targets, or the area. Also, casting Stone Rain into an empty spot should have a difficulty of 2, not 6. Inanimate objects have an MD of 2, according to the spellcasting sequence rules. Most spells that target inanimate objects like snuff...

Re: water, air interface

Stone rain underground has another name its called a "cave in", TBH more thematic outside its just materializing stones from the sky. The Sky doesn't have to be straight above the target nothing in the spell description says that. Cover is cover partial cover means the person is peeking ou...

Re: Heat Armor

Hijacking the thread somewhat: what are people's opinion on targeting for this spell? The text clear indicates that the wearer is the target, not the armor itself: The magician rubs his hands together and makes a Spellcasting test against the wearer’s Mystic Defense. If successful, the armor quickl...

Re: water, air interface

So basicly the spells act like shadowrun spells they take a shortcut through astral space and appear at the target. You just need to deal with the partial cover provided by the water. Fireball underwater well I am glad reality doesn't work here. if it did It would triple the radius and the damage. F...

water, air interface

discussion came up in my current game about spell effects with water. Can you target a mook swimming underwater w/ fireball or lightning. both have some odd effects if you pull reality into it. ie if the fireball explodes underwater its going to get real messy considering the uncompresseablity of wa...

Re: Willforce strain and aoe or multi-targets

Flame flash in its effect test clearly states one effect covers multiple rounds so no additional rolls. I am not sure if you can add will force in any round but the first.

Re: Willforce strain and aoe or multi-targets

It was discussed in Ed3, and as I see was changed only little in Ed4. As Telarus already wrote, it is meant to work with Effect Tests . So in case of Fireball 1 Strain and 1 Karma will make all targets suffer damage from EffectTest (its also true for all spells where 1 effect test is used for all t...

Re: Willforce strain and aoe or multi-targets

one effect test is also to speed the game up as well if you only roll 1 effect test on acid raid. that his an army of 100 solders that doesn't mean your now going to roll 100 effect tests to add willforce in. Its still only 1 effect test

chris happens to be my gm when this discussion came up. lol

Willforce strain and aoe or multi-targets

If I cast fireball against a "wasps nest" (say 40 low power mooks) When making effect tests from willforce in an instance where I am hitting multiple targets like the 40 above is that 40 strain or 1? karma of course is the other matter is karma fixed or variable when hitting multiple thing...

Re: Extra Successes allowing extra Targets

generally isn't it the rule for about anything when you use something that hits multiple things you use the target with the highest defense as your target number. After that result have at them all
