Re: 3ed Journeyman

Here we differ, Players Guide p241 clearly says the 'same time and effort' as Versatility not the 'same process.' A second Circle Elementalist may learn Durability from an 'out of Circle Advancement' tutor regardless of whether his tutor learned it at second or tenth Circle. Regardless, if the proce...

Re: 3ed Journeyman

It actually does, as the rules for learning a Talent via Versatility specifically states that you must have at least one Discipline at the same Circle where the trainer learned the Talent (3E PG pg 85). So, if the trainer learned the Talent at 9th Circle, you'd have to be 9th Circle to learn it fro...

Re: 3ed Journeyman

That would certainly be the sensible way to do it. I'm just not sure that's what the rules say. these talents are learned from a trainer in the same way as other adepts learn Talent options or learn a talent via Versatility. Everything after the 'or' in that sentence is optional, hence the 'or', so ...

Re: 3ed Journeyman

Out of interest how are you determining that Journeymen don't get access to Durability until 2nd Circle?

I could not find any convincing reason in the text to suggest that they can't learn any Talent they want at 1st Circle.

Re: ED3 Haggle for Trolls

Quickly looking over Etiquette I'm not sure it is ideal, perhaps Diplomacy might be a better choice for ensuring that conflicting interests in a business transaction do not result in offence being given to either party.

The mechanics don't seem too relevant but the fluff is more appropriate.

Re: ED3 Haggle for Trolls

Yeah that was kinda what I was already thinking. I'm already using the Bladesman version of Swordmaster which does that with Taunt and Acrobatic Strike and it is Weaponsmith that I plan to take as a second Discipline. I was just really wondering if anyone had any more interesting or elegant ideas. G...

Re: ED3 Haggle for Trolls

My impression has been more that Lowland Trolls tend to have a less 'stringent' response to sleights to their honour than their Highland brethren. The text of Namegivers seems fairly clear that haggling is generally highly insulting to katorr to an extent that I can't imagine Lowland Trolls feeling ...

ED3 Haggle for Trolls

I'm pretty new to ED so be gentle. I'm playing a Troll Swordmaster in my first ED campaign and I've made a point of reading Namegivers of Barsaive, the Troll section at any rate, so that I can at least pay lip-service to role-playing my race. Here's my problem, p100 of Namegivers makes it very clear...
