Re: Durability and Versatility
ED3, PG, pg 242-243. As a rule, durability is fixed. There is however an optional rule, which allows for the realigning of durability with a second discipline. If you read between the lines, you can summize that you cannot use versatility to improve your durability. Think about it though, a gamemast...

Re: Cathay's secrets...
Part of Earthdawn's appealing nature (in my opinion) is the 'mystery' that surrounds parts of the lore. These parts, i like to think, are intentionally left vague and unexplained, to allow for gamemasters and players to fill in the blanks, and create a new world of their own, without someone dictati...

Re: What constitutes horror corruption?
A Horror Mark is 'passive' as well as 'active'. Passive in a sense that a horror does not actively have to use the Mark to cause corruption. To answer your last question: Yes, a Horror Mark itself will be enough to cause the Name-Giver to fail the artisan skill check, in that it will never be a 'pos...

Re: Cathay: Any revues?
Not as such. There is reference in the Cathay books of Barsaivens visiting the 5 Kingdoms (as Cathay is often referred to), but it's entirely up to the GM to provide incentive (if you, or the players want to go to Cathay) to visit.

Re: Cathay: Any revues?
Wow, thanks! Seems almost like another world entirerly! Think of the differences between America / Western Europe on one side, and Asia (China, Japan) on the other side. There are huge differences in culture, which make it seem like a different world altogether. Same thing with Earthdawn. Barsaive ...

Re: Kratas Digital Map
There are maps of Kratas in the 'Kratas, City of Thieves' source book (both of the entire city and of the different districts).
Unfortunately, i don't have any digital copies, so i won't be able to provide you with those.

Re: Shield charge -Over powered?
Well, think about it. Example: Warrior adept with shield charge and second weapon. First attack: Shield charge with Attempt to Knockdown combat option. The result of the shield charge Test is used as the knockdown difficulty for the opponent (negating wound threshold). Second Attack: Second Weapon, ...

Re: Shield charge -Over powered?
Player's Guide, page 219, Using Shields: Only if blindsided by an opponent, you lose the defensive bonuses of a shield, otherwise a character receives full bonuses of every attack made against him/her (unless opponents are using the 'Going Inside a Shield' combat option). There's a ton of informatio...

Re: Shield charge -Over powered?
Keep in mind that when you use Shield Charge, you lose the defensive bonus of the shield against (other) attackers. Perhaps this makes it less 'broken' in your opinion?

Re: Assuring Touch & Lionheart talent
I don't know offhand if there are any Disciplines that get both Resist Taunt and Lion Heart, so I don't know how common it is to have the situation come up, but there is one example. Swordmasters: Lion Heart as Fifth Circle Optional, and Resist Taunt as Seventh Circle Discipline Talent (and i play ...
