Re: ? on Gencon 2016 LoB games

Thanks to all those that came out and kept my tables full! I hope everyone had a fun Gen Con. Keep your eyes peeled for more official LoB business to get posted to this forum soon (TM).

Re: ? on Gencon 2016 LoB games

I only sold six tickets and I am willing to run with eight as long as all my ticketed players don't mind the extra crowding. If you have the inclination to try to get in on generics you can probably find a seat. Good luck! :D

Re: ? on Gencon 2016 LoB games

ws6, thanks for asking! I was planning on making a post here as soon as we had the 'Haven Guidebook' ready for a release on the linked site, but unfortunately editing and changes are slowing the process down and now Gen Con is right around the corner! Still, the adventures have all been written and ...

Re: Windlings and cloaks

I always assumed that Windling flight was mostly fueled by magic, not physics. Shiny gossamer wings probably shouldn't be lifting anything. I'm pretty sure the developers assumed that all player characters could wear cloaks just fine when they were balancing things. In my game I would probably say a...

Re: GM's Guide -- Anything you would like to see?

I would really like to see how a 'standard' Earthdawn campaign is envisioned. One of the hardest things for me is pacing overarching plots that incorporate months of down time here and there. I think I have slowly gotten the hang of it, but a loose campaign structure or narrative arcs that incorpora...

Re: A new Developer's Blog? Why yes!

I haven't yet had a chance to play with the new shield rules, but the rest of the combat changes were all pretty refreshing for me as a GM. The removal of armor defeating hits is something that a lot of people are unsure about it, and you should of course test it yourself, but I think it all still w...

Re: Earthdawn 4th @ Gary Con!

Personally, I like the fluidity of combat and the ability for people to move to other targets in the swirl. I like avoiding the minutia of attacks of opportunity and threatened hexes. But I see your point. If you want to add tactical combat back in, I would probably have a rule like this: If the the...

Re: Earthdawn 4th @ Gary Con!

In the adventures there is only one real mage that they have to battle and he comes stocked with a retinue so he can't get 'ganked' right away. Players were pretty surprised to learn that there was no attack of opportunities for moving in and out of combat, but they seemed to cope with it pretty wel...

Re: Earthdawn 4th @ Gary Con!

I've been cleared to give my full report, so sit down children and let me tell you a little story about a game called Earthdawn 4th Edition. We made three related adventures to run for conventions. Each is a self-contained plot with some inter-connectivity. We made six 5th circle adepts: Dwarf Weapo...

Re: Earthdawn 4th @ Gary Con!

Thanks Lou!

The short story is that the games went well and people were excited to play. I will see what I can do about being more specific before the week is out!
