Since we're on the subject of Named Spells, I might mention a partial solution we've come up with as a House Rule to restrict the Naming of spells on people and other entities with True Patterns. Thanks for the update! Nice to see that you're addressing some of the... oddities... in the stats of many of the mundane creatures in previous editions. Having some templates to add looks good, too, and the behavior entries will be useful. Maybe you could add a habitat entry to the statblock, as well?

This is maybe too simple of a solution, but why not simply add the thread rank to the damage step? The reason I didn't suggest that was in order to keep Forge Weapon useful for a longer time, while preserving the way Thread Weapons are superior to mundane ones in 3E. I liked the ED3 rules for Forge Weapon/Forge Armor because of the limits to how much a weapon could be forged, especially with the first rank of Thread Weapons/Armor usually giving a "fully forged" damage/armor value. This ensured that the best weapons and best armor around were (almost) ...
