Re: How did animals survive the scourge ?
I always liked the theory that the concentration of magic in the Theran controlled areas attracted more Horrors, thus making the Scourge less severe in other areas of the world. The Horrors are attracted to magic, so the very existence of Kaers and Citadels acted as enormous magical beacons, making ...

Re: Is it possible to simplify the rules?
Good discussion so far. What would you like to see out of further conversation Xiaomei? Maybe after I actually study Earthdawn mechanics I could further discuss it, I didn't managed to do it yet. But I can already tell, that degrees of success in some systems are done without rerolling. I understan...

Re: some questions
so any disciple that has willforce and steelthought can use willforce in place of his WIL when testing steelthought (so giving to all the caster classes after 5th level basically a huge defensive boost against magic itself) it's correct ? No, because Willforce replaces your Willpower for the purpos...

Re: Reserved Dealy Actions
Player: "I reserve an action to perform a shield bash attack to knock down an enemy that tries to attack our severely wounded Wizard." Gm: "Okay." --Several actions later-- GM: "The Cadaver Man starts to attack the Wizard. You get your reserved action before he does." P...

Re: Ideas for Making Orks and Dwarves more Appealing to Play
Yeah, I don't see a need to change any of the races in my home game. People in my games play dwarves relatively regularly, so there's no need there. With orks, no one in my home games play them, but it's not because of their mechanics. No one is interested in role playing their cultural quirks, so t...

Re: ED3 Lightbearers????
Must be another conversion, because I didn't post my version anywhere online. Glad to hear others had the same idea, though.

Re: ED3 Lightbearers????
I did a write up of the Lightbearers for ED3 for one of my players in a game I ran set in Vasgothia. I reinterpreted the Lightbearers as a new Discipline, rather than a single Talent like the Questors get, because I didn't particularly care for the way they were handled in prior editions. If you are...

Re: GM's NPCs and involvement
As a GM, the only time I ever have NPCs join the party, it's strictly temporary, and they don't join in on the decision making process. In my personal opinion, the game is about the PCs, not my NPCs.

Re: Clarion Call Clarification
Thanks for your answer. I think the issue lies with my GM's understanding of harmful. I guess he understands it as the general meaning of harmful instead of something being physically harmful. If I would use Clarion Call to ''force'' a character about revealing secrets or simply telling the truth, ...
