Re: Multi-Discipline Adepts

This is what I thought. One of the few places where ED mechanics and flavor line up poorly, then.

Also makes me want to bring back Talent crisis. Hm.

Multi-Discipline Adepts

Does Earthdawn have, historically, ideas on how common it is for characters to have multiple Disciplines? I feel like the Fibonacci cost of things makes it so that all high-Circle characters want to pick up 3-4 Disciplines because hey, they're relatively cheap. But relatively little of the setting m...

Re: [ED4] Sprint

The Wizard spell does seem like a more direct comparison, and yes, does look better than low Ranks in Sprint, but that means keeping it in a Matrix, which, as I recall from other discussions, have only gotten more precious than they used to be. Quicken Pace doesn't really take a Matrix. It lasts fo...

Re: Excel character sheet - help beta test?

This rule is going to play bloody hell with my math and interface: If a character has learned a Talent Option that is a Discipline Talent for a new Discipline, that talent becomes a Discipline Talent as soon as the character qualifies to learn it from the new Discipline. From then on they use the Le...

Re: Excel character sheet - help beta test?

Sheets are out. The first pass of this is going to be without any intro text, because I want to see if what we've created is at all intuitive to anyone else. There's also a list of "we could implement this but would it be worth it to anyone at all" features, and I'd like to see what folks ...

Dougan, do you have an email address you can give me? I tried to ask you in PM but it says you've disabled receipt of PMs.

Re: Nethermancers in 4th Edition

I get the general vibe that those spells weren't lost, per se, so much as they were left for some future book that isn't the main book a new person needs in order to play. I like Dry and Wet, and when I was playing a Windling in a party with a Nethermancer in an old edition, it created for some seri...

Re: Excel character sheet - help beta test?

Agreed. One of the things that still needs work is that we use the old n+3 talents at n rule for circling, and the sheet pops up "ready to circle" notifications based on that. This is on the to-do list, but it's not yet to-done.

Excel character sheet - help beta test?

Hey folks, Doc Smiley and etherial and I have been putting together an Excel character sheet for Earthdawn, to help do the math for people. We're getting to the point where we're ready to release it for general consumption, but so far it's only circulated around our gaming group, which means there's...
