Re: Vis Shock

Shock quality sounds good. And the energetic shields option from FS2 is nice also: "a character can also attempt to slowly slip under shields and hit the target once his fist or weapon is past the shield (suffer –2 to Initiative, withhold victory dice and hope the damage does not exceed the shi...

Re: Vis Shock

Well you have to consider Burning Fist comes from a teurgic path not centered in attacks and energy shocks. If you need to spend 1 wyrd point just to have a "viable" attack, it is a bad thing. What happens with the fist or the cut of my sword? I am attacking with my sword but only shock da...

Re: Vis Shock

It is sinful because it is not a Psi power, but a teurgic power. It is level 6 but you don't have any limitations to the max. VP accomplished in the roll. You need to make the attack roll as I understand also in the Vish Shock we are talking about. Or add VP twice as damage. I don't know what is the...

Re: Vis Shock

Just to compare it, here we have the level 6 power for Eskatonic order in the Lords & Priests book: "Burning Fist (Level6, Faith +Vigor, PG, instant, 1W) Similar to the Level 6 Brother Battle ritual, "Smiting Hand," this rite draws forth the Holy Flame within and turns it to tangi...

Re: Vis Shock

So, you use your energetic high voltage power while spending wyrd points and hit with your sword, but you just do the same damage as if you were not using your psiquic powers? It sounds like fault to me. But of course each GM game may vary :D "The power’s activation roll is used in place of a n...

Re: Vis Shock

I think I have understood the power. "This attack adds +1 damage effect dice per VP to the damage roll of an unarmed attack." I think it means the user adds the VP as damage dice to the damage roll of ANOTHER unarmed attack or melee attack. I think it is the best way to think about this po...

Vis Shock

Does this power add +1 damage dice per VP plus the normal +1 damage per VP you gain with a normal attack? If not, I don't understand the advantages of this attack. Also, at the end it says you add the extra damage to an unarmed attack, I suposse it is a typo. This is the text of the power: Vis Shock...

Re: Eskatonic teurgy

I really have a more powerful and direct vision for the Skatonic order, at least in the shadows of the order. Have you read the Rune Magic of Vuldroks from the Star Crusade? It sounds like it really fits with Skatonic monks. True knowledge, Annunaki runes and free aka Ars Magica spells.

Re: Combat Effects

That is right, different tastes! :) Anyway, the new edition has combat actions, disarm, knock down, charge, etc.., and style combat actions. So you need to declare your stance each turn, and the combat action, and subtract penalties to roll and all those things BEFORE you know you succeed. With Comb...

Re: Combat Effects

I am beware there are people liking a passive defense like in D&D. I just don't share this opinion, this is the reason I came here with this house rule. I think both editions can be mixed easily, Fading Suns with active defense and combat actions is still a fast system (and more interesting for ...
