LFG: Stajain Tipping.
Time: 2020-06-07 @17:00GMT (Sunday 1pm Eastern)
GM: Chris D
Rating: 3H.
Eligible Characters: ECR 2 to 4
Mission organized by: Icarus Wolf-Swift

Rumor: While drinking at his favorite Inn, "The Pale T'Skrang", Icarus Wolf-Swift overheard some Orks talking about how their boss just found a nice herd of wild Staijan that he is hoping to round up and break to saddle. Icarus immediately racially profiled the Orks as probably scorchers, violent, and up to no good.

He thinks he could "repurpose" some Staijan for himself and anyone else. Besides, it is clearly foolish of the Orks for talking about such a valuable asset where Icarus could overhear them. He knows this claim-jump is going to be hard and wants 4-5 adepts.
Location: Plains south west of Sosanopa.

Note: This is how Icaras himself would describe it. http://www.fasagames.com/forum/viewtopi ... 38d77b6fa4

Please sign up with the following.
Also, if you want a Stajian, and want a specific mask on your Stajian, mention it here. Masks other than the standard need to be approved by Chracter Head.

I stand a decent chance of catching, holding, and bringing some back.
And if all you want is tipping, I am pretty good at knocking things down too.

As a dwarf I can't ride a stajian, but some form of mount would be cool. And if not, I can always wrangle one for my House to use.

"The other day I was drinking at my favorite tavern, "The Pale T'Skrang." after hearing to orcs regal me with the tales of the boss of their band of riders just found a nice unclaimed herd of Stajain. I of course was not just going to let such valuable Stajain go to waste, when I could use one for a pack beast and sell the rest for a nice profit. after I begged the bar keep to let my outstanding tab slide, I stumbled out into the street. I knew I would need a team to undertake such an endeavor.

Keeping in mind that I have never in my life handled animals, let alone wild 1000 pound walls of meat. So I already had a person in mind for the job, Reyis the Shaman. I had adventured with him before and I know that if I pay him what he is worth he should come along, even if I had to leave out the part about them already being claimed. Reyis invited his friend from travels named Nez, a Windling Beastmaster. I got also sent for Rose the nethermancer because I know that she is looking for jobs like myself, finally I found the stylist dwarf named Torgun the sword master. After gathering all of our party we jumped in my cart, pulled by my mule Gus; and headed out.

The trip up to Sosanopa was uneventful and I didn't even have to navigate, because of established roads and path ways. Lucky for me because I was a little drunk since we headed out as soon as I could gather everyone, once I left the bar. it is always great having Reyis to watch and ration our supplies, I feel like with him in the party we could march to the death sea and back on a week of trail rations. Reaching a small fishing village I have never seen we traded with them for a couple weeks of rations for safety and went on our way. Heading west from there was were I heard that the herd was found. using my "expert" navigation skills I lead the party in the right direction I think? but a day and a half on the road we spotted a broken down cart, and not 100 yards from it we heard the screaming of a women.

Nez sneaked up to the cart but quickly returned to inform us that a women is currently giving birth to a baby. I being a trained physician rushed over, Air sailors are always known for helping those in need after all. Reaching the Wagon the husband of the wife informed me that he was heading to his cousins ranch a day and a half away. In his rush the wagon axle broke and he can't fix it. His wife however has been in labor for 30 so hours he stated, informing me that something must be wrong with the pregnancy. The mother had lost alot of blood so I administered a booster potion and after a hours worth of using my physicians kit and my expertise I safely delivered a healthy baby boy and saved the life of the mother. The father a elf named Omid Dayra, thanked me and his wife after she got a moment to rest told me that they were going to name the child after me, Icarus Dayra. I was taken back because I never thought I would ever have someone named in honor of me. We fixed their wagon and escorted them to the ranch of their family member, and then we went on our way.

several hours of travel we came to a watering hole that was surrounded by 20 or so Stajain, My party members that actually knew how to handle animals got to work. After a whole day and the next morning they finally got the herd under control and able to guide it. Travelling for several hours were meet on the road by a large party of Orcs on horse back, I noticed two of them from the bar. The guy front and center pretty much told me these were his Stajain (which I mean he is kinda right tho) But I wasn't going to back down after all the time we spent out here. we got into a large fight and the orcs managed to get control of the herd and ride off with them in the end, luckily we killed their leader and stole a couple horses to sell later.

So here I am, sitting at the "Pale T'Skrang" drinking. I might not have got the Stajain I wanted but look at it this way, if I didn't go out there that Women "Fayyren" and her child would of died in that wagon. So I will drink to that."

The Written Histories of Nez and ….

I was recruited to help tame a herd of Staijen from Icarus along with Reyis Poriv, Torgun Neumani & Rose. Before a group of suspected scorchers could get their hands on them.

We headed north up to Sosonopa and then turned southwest after picking up some extra rations. We came upon a broken wagon and heard a woman’s scream. As I approached I noticed that an Elven woman was in Labor.

Icarus was very helpful and successfully delivered the wife’s new boy with his physician skill. Torgan helped repair the cart.

The couple led us to a rancher nearby and we decided it was best to escort the couple. Once we arrived we talked to the Rancher who was upset that the herd had been breaking his fences. He did mention that a herd had been seen five miles east.

We came upon a large herd of Stajian and began to introduce ourselves. Reyis and I took the lead and we had some bumps as the Stajian did get a bit grumpy. We were able to slowly get them back under control with only a couple of us being trampled.

The next morning as I was bonding with the beasts we had a large group of scorchers come and claimed that the herd belonged to them. After some predictably worthless and awkward conversation a skirmish erupted.

The band of Orks were very large and we were outnumbered roughly three to one. They sent four to try to steal the Stajian from us and the rest of us went into combat. I was able to get some good licks in but eventually a large blow knocked me to the ground. The other four wranglers started to herd the Stajian away. The others were able to beat down the leader.

It became a heated battle where the scorchers were trying to rescue their leader and steal the herd at the same time. Due to their sheer numbers it was proving successful. I could really use Sagarmatha in times like this. I kept dominating their beasts to try to get them back but they would always jump on a new horse.

The Scorchers on their horses were very adept at moving the large beasts and the herd quickly moved away from us.

Shortly after their leader was knocked down and passed around from horse to horse he came back to consciousness. He was on a horse and I hoped that we could trade their leader for the Stajian, but not if he got away. I rushed up to him and unfortunately when I struck him he died. Rose tried to administer a life check spell to bring him back. With their leader dead we were unable to negotiate to get the beasts back.

I am tormented by this death. When they arrived we told them to move on and it was not worth it, but they were not having it.

Another sad and hard day.
